Hi All,
I would like to get viewpoints from those who use Android OS. I have been an Apple person but i'm interested in Android. I would like to know if Android will offer me a different or improved user experience or would you say the differences are subtle and just a matter of taste? Basically, I have an iPad and would like to know if it would be worth my while to get an Android tab.
Thoughts?? And please no flaming, or trolling.....

4 users reported that they use their phones for sending text messages whereas less than half of them download apps or use the browser.
Features that Americans WITH A SMARTPHONE (as a %) use on their phone.
Sent text message to another phone - 74.6%
Used downloaded apps - 48.6%
Used browser - 48.5%
Accessed social networking site or blog - 35.7%
Played Games - 31.8%
Listened to music on mobile phone - 24.5%
Half of the people pay for a smart phone and don't even use the browser on it??

My mom talked about wanting a phone like 'the one lady at school because she could show all these pictures on her phone'...yea, no...not getting my 55 yo mother that lives in the boonies a smartphone...she would for sure be part of that 50% that doesn't know how to open the browser, haha

Google and Apple pretty much redefined the term 'smartphone'. I don't think RIM is anything close to being considered a smartphone in today's market.

The first smartphones were devices that mainly combined the functions of a personal digital assistant (PDA) and a mobile phone or camera phone.
By their definition...all current feature phones were Smartphones back in the day...even the $4 GoPhones would have been Smartphones by a 2002 standard...
I'd call a BB still a smart phone. Not the Curve if they are still making that...but the other ones.

You put forth one specific model of Android that had battery issues in some cases, and crashed a bit (probably due to apps), so it should be valid for me to put forth another Android that doesn't have such issues.
I have a G2 and I don't need to charge it more then once a day unless I am using the GPS navigation.. in which case the car charger is used..

And you are the one that brought up supposed iphone battery issues.
Not "supposed". You can read up on it if you like. The fact is that there was a recognized issue with 4S battery life, so much so that they pushed out an update to take care of it.
Why do you keep harping on this supposed battery issue on iPhones? Seems a bit off topic.

I differentiate iPods separate from anything that runs iOS. Apple does too so I don't see why I shouldn't?
The iPod Touch is the real only exclusion from the rule in that it runs iOS and is also under the iPod moniker (well that and the newer iPod Nano but it's a really, really skimmed down version of iOS. It's akin to calling Microsoft's Kin phone series a Windows Phone device, so I don't count it).
