Me either. I just bought an 07 Civic Hybrid four months ago. I am absolutely in love with my car. I got in on the 200 dollar rebate thing too (the class action thing) right after I bought it is when the mail came to me about that.

Plus the computer "told" me when I needed my car given its maintenance. I didn't realize I'd have to update that navigation system. I'll call my dealer. What would be the harm in not buying this? I'm a local driver only and rarely use my GPS as it is.

I guess I should keep this vehicle up do date though......it feels like one big computer whenever I'm in it. I'll make it happy and give it the update lol. Just talked myself into it Smilie

Thanks OP- repped/upped

I think they usually recommend you update about every 3 years or so.

I got the same email for my 2006 Ridgeline. If you just go to the website and check your year and model the discounted price wont show up, you have to follow the link from the email. Seems likely that more (possibly all) of the discs are discounted if you have the right link.

i agree, to an extent. i dont have integrated navi in my accord, and i use my android for navi, but the streamlined look of integrated navigation in a car is priceless, not to mention most built in navi's come with bluetooth cell phone calling which is great for hands-free required states. my next car will definitely have built in navi.

Thanks for the rep. It's not necessary to update the GPS software if you rarely use it, but I do find it helpful for updating the local points of interest even for the area I live in (sometimes you get those new roads/shortcuts you never knew existed, and phone numbers get updated all the time for restaurants/etc.)

The GPS update is strictly for updating the maps and POIs; any other software fixes that your vehicle requires is covered under recall notices or regularly scheduled maintenance. I bought one myself and figure it's worth updating the GPS once every 3-4 years, but I won't expect any miracles with getting a new voice. Would be great to have Sean Connery or Kate Beckinsale speak my turn by turn directions, but only so much Honda can do for me.

THANKS !

I just ordered one for my 2009 Civic. I almost bought one on ebay a couple of months ago, but this is even cheaper than that went for.

I just can't make myself pay $149 for an update.... but for $99, I'd do it every other year.

eh...
unless they do alot of road work in your area, these updates aren't needed at all.

i've had the same maps in my 08 TL-SA since 08... and before that, the stock maps in my 03 Accord Coupe.
these are complete ripoffs.
for the price you pay for the NAV option on most cars from the dealer these should def be free. don't support this horrible practice.
