Check out the reviews for Toshiba Canvio portable, the reviews are pretty bad in Amazon. 1TB version reviews are also pretty bad in Amazon and Newegg.

How'd you get the extra $10 off? I added to cart, still see $109.99

Looking for a reliable one for my mom but there seems to be about the same number 5+4 stars as 1 stars on amazon....

Any rec's? It's to store photos and documents so 500gb / small is fine. I think I'll go with WD.

Thanks, got it. Somehow my Chrome was buggy and would not display that $10 off. Worked fine in Firefox.

$80.54 for a portable 1TB is not bad.

I have two 1TB version and both performs well. Low noise and matting finish so it's not a finger print magnet. USB3.0 is extremely fast comparing to USB2.0. The LED on the drive actually changes color to indicate the connection speed. USB3.0 (blue LED), USB2.0 (white LED).

I have a 2 yrs old Dell PC (quad core - Studio S540 model) - not sure if it has USB 3.0 or not. How do I check? If not, how & where can I get that? Thanks.

I bought the 1TB version of this drive a few weeks ago from Newegg and found that it did not work reliably on the Dell Precision M6600 laptop which has USB 3.0. It worked on two but not another. The Western Digital 1TB drive I then bought worked great on any USB 3.0 system. Toshiba's support was TERRIBLE so I returned it vowing to avoid Toshiba USB drives for the time being.
Just thought I'd share my experience with the Dell M6600's and the Canvio line of drives.
