$399.99 + tax, which isn't too much more than the prices on eBay, and you can easily return it if there's anything wrong with it. If it has the same panel as the Korean displays (which is appears to be, but won't know until there's a tear down of it), then it uses the same display as the 27" iMac and Dell U2711 (for half the price).

Pictures of it in this thread at Rage 3D:

Crap. I hope by Chicago you don't mean Chicago/Westmont. I can't remember if the website used to specify 'glossy' or not. I was a couple weeks from deciding to grab one of these.

Got mine today and it has an AG coating similar to the Dell Ultrasharps. Nothing else bad to report but I definitely looking forward to a glossy monitor.

Picked up from the Houston MC, and mine is also AntiGlare...I have perfectly dark environment, so the matte AG looks horrible. Returning....anyone in Houston get a glossy monitor??? WOuld try for an exchange if they have it.

You can tell by the box if its glossy or matte.

Glossy model has a box with a white plastic handle on top.
Matte has a box with the cut-out handle holes on each side.

Anyway, can someone do the PWM dimming test with a pencil, I cant use monitors with PWM dimming as it kills my eyes.

Thanks for the info. Reps.

Has anyone purchased this monitor from the Marietta, GA, Deluth, GA, or online (what I really want)recently and gotten a glossy panel?

The only thing I'm going to say is be careful for the non-HDCP support! I was going to settle for Korean monitors long time ago but I ended up getting a Dell for $550 on deals just so I can use it with HDCP. If you guys just use it for gaming or photo editing then fine but if you plan on watching movies/playing console on it too then good luck.

This monitor SUPPORTS HDCP. This has already been addressed previously.

Thanks for the info, that's more than Microcenter could/would tell me on the matter other than implying I drive the distance to find out myself.

Anyone have issues with the glare on these? I picked up 2 a few weeks back and every time I use them, I get nauseous and light headed. They are the glossy panels.
I hate to have to return them, any tips or ideas? Frown

I just got my Auria from MC in Marietta, GA yesterday. It does have the AG coating. They had 12 in stock when I bought mine and all of them had the AG coating. The monitor has no backlight bleed and zero dead or bright dot pixels so I really want to keep it even though I hate matte screens for my working environment. I am going to be removing the coating tonight. I will update my post with more information once I do. I am in a hotel so it's gonna be a tad more interesting but I want to make sure I can still take it back if I mess up.

Supposedly these are using the same panel as the Dell u2711 now, with CCFL rather than LED backlighting (along with the AG coating.) I stopped by Microcenter today, they had the AG version hooked up in the Mac section. It was obvious at first glance that these are also now -wide gamut- displays like the Dell. Basically for the typical user that means intensely saturated primary colors (especially reds,) overly orange skin tones, and other unpleasantries. Plus it seemed like like there was something lacking in the black levels, I played with it for a little while but nothing could get it looking like the Apple display sitting next to it. Could have been the AG, but I have other AG panels and that really doesn't seem like it would account for the difference. My feeling is they changed the panel but none of the programming or electronics to account for the different characteristics. Quite a bummer as the glossy version is pretty awesome, but the matte version has absolutely nothing in common with it - a completely different monitor in every way.

I can also attest that the matte models are CCFL backlit with wide gamut panels(actually a plus for me). Mine is currently in several pieces but it is very clear that these are liquidated Dell wide gamut panels. These are definitely much better quality panels than the previous models in terms of backlight bleed but the AG coating is intense. These are much thicker than any of the pictures of the models you can see online and are about 2.5" deep at their thinnest point. Calibration is going to be a pain to match to my PB278Q as there is no simulated sRGB mode as in the Dell U2410 and Dell U2711. Still, though, if you are looking for a wide gamut panel or are willing to spend some time with calibration, these make the Dell's prices seem like extortion.
