Since the cartoons are just 2D it wouldn't be hard. Just find a pic online and print them out at full scale like a huge banner. Tape them to a piece of plywood and trace it out with a jigsaw.

Or you can find someone with an overhead projector, then find an outline online print it then use the overhead projector to put a life sized image on the wood and trace from that.
