Sounds like a pretty great deal, as long as they really mean "most cars" and don't exclude too many. I wonder if this deal is nationwide.

Anybody know if the Wagner Thermo-Quiet pads are ceramics? I put Wagner ceramic pads on my car a couple of years ago and have been very pleased. Quiet, smooth, and far less brake dust turning the wheels black!

awesome! the aaa shop I go to told me I needed the front brake pads and rotors replaced and they were charging me $500+ for it. called the closest firestone shop and they said the rotors will cost an additional 65-95 per wheel if needed. This will save me at least $200 if they really needed to replace the rotors!

Do it yourself. It's trivially simple. Brakepads are like $10-$20. You don't hire someone to come change out your lightbulb do you?

This is not a bad deal but i agree with travfar, brake pads are simply too easy to swap out on your own to pay someone. Spend the installation money on better brake parts (Brembo, EBS, Hawk).

Firestone is notorious for upselling you on unneeded repairs and pressuring you to do so.

Changing brake pads is not super dificult but it also isn't "trivally simple" to do it "correctly".

Since people do not have grinders at home to turn their own rotor's this also needs to be done....

Don't listen to this guy.. it's a good deal.. save yourself some time and headache and enjoy that time with your family or friends...

Don't listen to this Firestone employee. For the amount of money you would pay him to "grind" you rotors, it's called "turning" by the way, you can either buy them outright or put a lot of money towards new rotors. I never get my rotors turned, I just buy new ones. And don't buy into the hype that you need to turn your rotors to have your brake pads replaced "correctly". You don't. You only need to turn them if your rotors are warped. Do your brakes virbrate when you use them? If not, then you don't need to have your rotors turned. Turning your rotors will just make them thinner and more likely to warp thus requiring new rotors. If your rotors are warped, just get new rotors.

Used the Wagner on my car. It is good. The $90 price is actually pretty good but hope you will not be told that many other parts need to be replaced by Firestone.

I'm not sure if I can say "easy", but you need a C-clamp or a special tool to push the piston. If you know what you are doing (better watch a youtube video if you haven't done it before), it is very easy. This is for the disc brake. The drum type is very difficult to install, need to be very carefull with thise springs.

I had many bad experiences with Firestone. If I go for oil change, they come with $1500-2000 estimate of work to be done. One time the guy told me that I will not reach home if I dont change tires right away. I think they try to fear people to do things right away.

Be careful with Firestone, I bet on 80% of the cars that go in for a simple brake job, they'll find bad rotors or calipers that need replaced "immediately". Just learn to turn them down and insist they just do what you want them to do...

Some of them are very mean even after getting your money for the work you don't need!
