Why would it drop? wouldn't it go up instead?

Well HD makers have reduced their warranties since the floods and a lot of people say that their quality went down. Does WD plan to make the Hitachi's the budget drives and the WD the premium ones, or are they both equally tiered?

On 18th June I bought "Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex 1 TB USB 3.0 Ultra-Portable External Hard Drive in Black STAA1000101" from Amazon @ $79.99. Now Hitachi is $79.99. Are the price dropping for all portable hard disk?

Will these be dropping anymore anytime soon? I remember when 1TB was going for around $50-60(not sure if they were portable).

Ya, I think I remember buying mine for about $80 and it was around average price at the time, not really a sale. I am not needing one at the moment though, so I will just wait.

Anybody know if there is a standard SATA drive inside, or is it a direct USB connect like some of the WD drives?

Off topic, but do you have a link to pictures/details of this connection? This is the first time I've heard of this plug and I'm curious how they implemented it.
