Thread Details

Been waiting a while for this deal to come back.

OfficerStore.com has the Aimpoint PRO deal back. $400 - 10% off coupon (4THSAVINGS) brings the total to $360 + Free shipping on orders over $50 dollars.

People have successfully done this deal before and OfficerStore.com has a good reputation.

Great optic for a great price.

I missed out on the last $360 PRO deal so I'm giving this a shot.

Good deal. You can also get the surefire X300 for $180 shipped after applying the 4th 10% coupon.

Really?

10% off MSRP is as good as deals get on this sight? That sucks. I'm trying to find some good sights for several guns I have bought in the last year. But I have to hold out for better than 10%.

Maybe I'll be waiting for a long time.

You will be waiting a long time. High quality weapons sights (Trijicon/Aimpoint/Eotech/Elcan) do not often sell for steep discounts. There is strong demand from people willing to pay top dollar. If you are looking for deals, the lightly used market is the way to go. If anything goes wrong, these companies have outstanding warranty departments and will generally take care of you.

Just make sure you verify the serial # to confirm it was not sold to Uncle Sam. Otherwise, you'll get a nice visit from them to retrieve their property.

You will be waiting a long time. Wink

I've watched them since they have come out, 10% ($360) is the best that I've seen. Well worth it though, I have a bunch of Aimpoint sights, including one PRO. I am thinking about maybe 2 at this price.

The Aimpoint QRP mount may not be as tacticool as some others, but I'm pretty sure this one can be reversed so the knob is on the other side. It's a good mount. Many QD mounts are too close to the charging handle on many rifles, turning into busted knuckles.

Any input from others with similar scopes at this price point? I have a couple of acogs but need a new scope for a custom build.

Prepare for a long wait.

Palmetto Arms got spanked by Aimpoint when this offered this deal.
Quality optics seldom go on sale.

Like others have said, this is probably the best deal going for this optic.

I don't need it but I grabbed one for this price. Maybe I'll just need to buy another rifle so it has a home, the Colt 6920 in the other thread is awfully tempting Big Grin

How does this compare to the EOTech Model 512, which is only $15 more?

There is a lot of debate on this subject. There are a lot of Fanboys for each type of sight and a lot of people who don't hold back on their highly prejudicial opinions. I will say that I am partial to EOTech, largely for two reasons 1) a very bright and easy to acquire ring and dot reticle 2) a huge sight window. The advantages of the Aimpoint are 1) extremely long battery life 2) bright and accurate dot. The advantages of Trijicon ACOG - 1) no need to worry about batteries or electronics 2) really clear and sharp magnified reticle. There are plenty of other options and other brands, but these are the three that make up most of the premium combat optics market. The one that works for you really depends on what you want from your weapon system. If price is a real stumbling block, I've read that Vortex sights are pretty good for under $200.00 and have seen them on rifles (where they look really good), but have not shot a rifle equipped with one.
