Rebel, I purchased last night, came back to read more reviews and it showed back in stock, I'm not sure if we change the OOS in the Wiki. I didn't want to take credit for posting since I'm not the OP.

Good deal, but the refurb + tax is enough to keep me waiting for another deal. The built in wi-fi is awesome at this screen size/price though

I picked one up too. I was wondering I should wait for the 30% off coupon through Squaretrade or just get the Walmart 3yr for 99 bucks? With the 30% its only 70 bucks for 3yrs. Im not sure when that coupon will appear again though.....

I skipped the warranty. By the time this dies, I'll want a different TV anyhow. When it does die, I'll likely be able to fix it fairly easily. For $650, I'm not risking much.

EDIT:

It's not really 11.5" thick is it? Anyone have an answer as to edge light or active grid lighting?

This might be what it looks like from the rear.

Haier is best known for appliances and air conditioners. HiSense is best known for TVs, air conditioners and mobile products. Both are super large industries in China.

Really?? Surprising. Believe it or not, I'm actually pretty loyal to Haier. I've bought their products for years now and never ran into a single issue. Six-year old 42" LCD from Costco for $550 is still running pretty strong, but wouldn't mind upgrading. Just wasn't sure if Hisense was an actual upgrade or not.

It's definitely not 11.5" thick. That is most likely the thickness of the base, but the thickness of the TV should be at most 2" and probably less for LEDs.
