YMMV as it is clearance... B&M only!

$79.98 for either of these seats (these are the Deluxe/DLX versions), which normally sell for $159.

Great seats for 50% off! Bought two with identical DOMs of 4/2012!

Note: Walmart and Amazon have the "LX" (target clearance is an upgraded version) model for $129. I guess this clearance is a result of the newly released Graco MyRide 70 which Target now sells for $159.

We bought 2 of the My Ride 65's when this deal was posted, but now I'm feeling like I messed up by not getting something that could go right into a stroller from the car. You say not to get travel systems....what is the reason for that? Is the quality inherently poor? I'm feeling like in order to get a "fancy & expensive" stroller, I need to order it online and risk not being able to return it without a huge return shipping cost. Are there any B&M's that sell such high-end strollers where one can test drive them?

depending on the size of your little ones you can still get a travel system, you will need the larger style seat soon enough.

people say not to get a travel system because they are not "necessary" and you will need to buy a larger car seat eventually anyways. you can put babies starting at 5lbs in the bigger non system seats, none the less, the convenience factor is where you win out. The main one being if your baby falls asleep in a car seat (the smaller kind) you can just let them sleep, and carry them into the house still all strapped in. we do this all the time with our 11 month old because the car puts him to sleep. with the larger non travel system seats you obviously have to get them out, which will most likely wake them up. When he was smaller, this was essential. Plus getting a baby in and out, while in the winter, or rain, is a PITA, just grab the whole thing, so easy.

there are a lot of crappy travel systems out there. and then fantastic ones. when we started shopping we had no idea what we wanted. most of them even when folded are huge, heavy, cumbersome. which is why people don't like them. if they are big or don't really fit in your car, you won't use it.

we went with a britax b-agile stroller. which folds down fairly small, is around 16lbs, and is fantastic. they make a car seat that snaps into it as well as a car seat base in your vehicle. it is a little more pricey then the super low priced gracos, etc. but it is worth it. plus britax products are extremely highly rated and very safe.

we found it at babies r us, and as soon as i took it off the shelf and pushed it around, i knew it was the right one. My sister was expecting at the same time and she picked out the exact same setup even though we didn't go to the store together. So try a BRU. Or Buy Buy Baby is even better, their selection is fantastic. You can also order from Amazon and they have an extended return period, it used to be 1 year, now i think it is 3 month. Or order from target, and you can return in store. You still have to take it out of the box, put it together, etc to try it though.

Buy Buy baby has all the britax models and BRU had the b-agile. If cost isn't the biggest concern (you can get decent deals on them, the carseat with base runs around 140, and the stroller can be found for around 170 right now) I would say order it and go with it. we love it. I don't think you would be sorry.

You will need that bigger carseat soon though. Just had one delivered yesterday because our little guy is not so little anymore. I just gotta make sure it fits in the car, because they are even bigger then a travel system setup when rear facing.

They aren't built well, they don't fold well, and they steer like a wounded water buffalo. They also have truly horrible resale values. I don't know what stores you have in your area so it's hard for me to say. The larger the city, the more likely you'll be able to find a store that caries high end strollers.

Thank you and reps to you both. I didn't think BRU would have high-end strollers. I will check them out. I am more interested in a stroller that will be gentle on my back injuries than I am about the travel system.

Britax is really about the highest BRU carries and they truly are really midrange. Nonetheless less if you have a bad back I would still suggest the b-agile. My brother in law had spinal fusion surgery, and likes it as well. Lightweight, not cumbersome.

We have the b-nimble as well. I won it in a giveaway. It is kind of like a super umbrella stroller and will even let their carseat attach to it. I like it since it is smaller and lighter (13lbs) but would not want it full time. We keep at at my parents house. I would probably like it more if we had a bigger and heavier stroller, then the weight of it would be great, but compared to the agile, not enough of a difference.

You can also check out the City brand, which the mini jogger is just like the agile. There are a lot of others out there in the midrange. The stuff you see the most in every store like Walmart etc are all the low end (even though some of them are $300-400 and the size of my car). They will work if you have to, but for something we use so much, I would rather spend a little more.

Target has had some of the City Mini singles on clearance at 50% off, so $99.99 instead of $200. Serious YMMV on this one as usual.

Second the suggestion of the B-Agile. The weak link in most travel systems is really the stroller much more so than the carseat portion, the latter which the baby will outgrow in a year or so anyway. Sure the stroller can hold a child up to 50 lbs, but how many parents do you see around town using the bulky travel system stroller all the way till the kid is 3-4 years? Pretty much none.

I also think the inexpensive stroller frames are great with the infant carseats for portability and lightweight the first six months. And no big deal to pick up a used one on Craigslist, they're mostly metal and have been used only six months, so it's not like they get all worn or gross with vomit and food and other stuff (like a used carseat).

Please understand how Target Clearance deals work. They will ALWAYS be YMMV because each and every store sets their own clearance and markdown schedule. This means that one store in your town may have an item clearance for 15% off, another won't have it on clearance at all, and a third may have it at 90% off. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme nor reason to this. It just depends upon how fast specific items turn in a given store. If your closest Target sells tons of car seats, then the markdown schedule will most likely be slower than at a store that doesn't sell that many. They don't need to mark them down much, or at all in order to clear out excess inventory. For instance, the Amazon Kindle's that Target discontinued? My local stores still have them in inventory at full price. They have never been marked down a dime, while they were blown out in many other markets for 50-75% off! So if your local store doesn't have this price, that's just the breaks. Wait it out if you can to see if the price finally drops to where you want it, or drive to another store and see what their price is.

Oh, and to save you the trouble of asking... Target stores will NEVER match another Target store's clearance price.

That said, great car seat and a great price if you can find it!
My target matched Target online clearance last week. If you don't ask you won't get lucky. They happened to bend that day and I bought 12 items at 75% off. I don't expect to win every time, but I play anyway. The best part of it is that you don't have to hurry to the store. It will be in stock at full price or partial reduced. However, if it bothers you to be told no then don't try. If you like to watch good customer service people squirm for answer that will keep you happy then by all means. BTW, a year ago I price matched an iPad at Target that was an exceptional 'one time ever' deal. Some people prefer to bend instead of squirm.

I also can't seem to find any info on an extra base for the My Ride. This is a problem since I need one for my mom's car. We've already bought 2 full seats and do not want to buy a third...jsut want an extra base. Seems all the bases are for Snugrides. Frown
Does anyone have any info regarding the existance of an extra base?

As StuckAtWork mentioned above, there is no such thing. There is no detachable base, so there are no extra bases.

This is a confusing point that I had trouble with early on. Basically it breaks down like this: the infant carriers have a separate detachable base which stays in the car. The "bucket" that the baby rides in is detachable, has a carrying handle and snaps into place on the base (or in the stroller). These are only good until 9 months or so. After that, you need a bigger seat such as this MyRide. These are commonly called "convertibles", because they convert from rear-facing to front.

The downside of the convertible is that it is larger and "permanent", i.e. the whole car seat stays in the car, so no extra base necessary or even possible.

Wow...ok. I didn't understand what he/she meant. I thought all car seats had the option to be transfered between cars. That is lame. I had no idea I was going to need 4 flipping car seats for 1 flipping baby! LOL The first of many shocks I assume....

Well don't get me wrong, you can still unbuckle the seat and move it to the other car. With practice you can do it in a few minutes, it's just a bit of a pain if you have to do it frequently (or worse, if you need the seat and someone has driven off with it in the other car!).

Ok. From what I had read about this seat in particular, it's a beast to install, so I was thinking it was a stay put or lose your mind thing. lol
