YMMV as it is clearance... B&M only!

$79.98 for either of these seats (these are the Deluxe/DLX versions), which normally sell for $159.

Great seats for 50% off! Bought two with identical DOMs of 4/2012!

Note: Walmart and Amazon have the "LX" (target clearance is an upgraded version) model for $129. I guess this clearance is a result of the newly released Graco MyRide 70 which Target now sells for $159.

Ok, so let me ask you a couple of quick questions... Did you purchase the convertible car seat to use from birth? If not, then you are losing the usable life of the car seat storing it for a year or so till your newborn moves from the infant only bucket seat to the convertible. Car seats expire 6 years from the Date of Manufacture (DOM). Not the date of the sale, and not from the day you finally decide to open the box. Target does this every year right around this time when they do the baby gear reset. No need to waste the life of the seat now. Just get the seat you want when you need it. In a year there will be something newer and nicer being cleared out at around the same price point. My suggestion is to wait.

That said... You have a four year old in a booster? Go back a page and read my post about whether your child is ready to be in a booster. I have seen precious few four year olds, or even five year olds, who are truly booster ready. Both in size and weight (4 years AND 40 lbs) for proper fit, but also the emotional maturity required for safe boostering. If your child fails ANY of the safe boostering requirements that I laid out in that post, then I highly recommend that you put your 4 year old in the MyRide 65 and keep them there until they can pass all the safe boostering requirements.

Your child is 50% safer in a 5-point harness than in an adult 3-point belt, which is why NASCAR drivers wear 5-point harnesses! The 5-point harness also works all the time, even when your child isn't sitting correctly, and the vast majority of 4-6 year olds cannot sit 100% correctly 100% of the time, which is required for safe boostering. An accident can happen in a split second at any time. They don't wait for your child to wake up and sit correctly in their seat.
Big Grin Thanks for your concern!! I am anal about car seats, LOL!! To my mother in law, a seat is a seat and why did I throw away our expired seats??

We do have the infant seat all ready for baby #2, but with my first, he was sooo tall, he outgrew his little bucket seat at 6 months, so I'm getting prepared, (though, I did get the upgrade on the graco baby seat, so we will see )so we put him in an Evelflo Titan rear facing, (which, I didn't like, started BREAKING off hunks of plastic after a year) and I was careful not to move him into the booster until his doctor said ok, he was a little older than 4, (his 5th birthday is here in about 2 months) he was 40 lbs, and 42 inches, and he's a good sitter. I also got the Britax Latch style one, because the cheaper graco and evenflo models had no latch, and the seat slid out from him on the test run around the block. The Britax one stays nice and still, and has the strap between the legs too, to keep them from slipping under. He's also never been a car sleeper since he was about a year, gets that from me, or, maybe he would be, but we never go more than a few minuites from the house for anything.

I agree completely though, about kids being rushed into boosters, or, worse, the wrong kind of booster. I see that all the time, kids much smaller than my son in a BACKLESS booster!!! And one that just kinda sits there, and from my experience, doesn't stay well in the seat. Sure, it's easier on the parent, but not safe at all!!! I don't plan to remove the back from his booster until his height is too tall for it.

I hate to tell people this, but most pediatricians give AWFUL car seat advice. They just don't stay up on the literature concerning car seats and car seat safety, nor do they understand "best practice". For car seat advice, bypass your pediatrician and talk to a real professional. Find a local CPST who can help you.

Another popular misconception is that you're safer making short trips around the house. This is actually the opposite of the truth. You are much more likely to have an accident within 2 miles of your house than longer distances. So letting your guard down vis-a-vis car seat safety for short trips is actually much more dangerous than on a longer trip.

The MyRide 65 will fit most newborns from 5lbs and up at birth, albeit for the smaller newborns you may need to use rolled up receiving blankets for a truly good fit. A local CPST can show you how to do this properly and safely. Do not EVER use a Bundle Me, or similar product for this! They are EXTREMELY dangerous to use!!!!!! The seat should fit most children up to ages 6-8 depending upon how long their torso's are. Keep in mind that most children will outgrow a car seat by height long before they outgrow them by weight.

The infant headreast and side "pillows" in this seat work really well. We just tried it with my neighbors son (who is abour 9 lbs) and he looked super snug and secure (although in a pink seat Cool). Of course, I wouldnt recommend anything other than an infant carrier/car seat, this would fit a small baby, if one would elect to do so.

Again, consult a CPST where available (or go to car-seat.org, which we consulted ALOT with our son a few years ago).

Need some help please. I have a 12 month old and a newborn arriving at the end of Sept.
I have Graco Snug ride baby carrier car seat for the 12 month old and she is out growing this. I also have a Safety 1st Alpha omega elite car seat for for her in our Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Now I picked up (2) Safety 1st air protect chart air 65 and a Britax Round About 50 Classic.
I want a matching set if possible in my 2003 jetta but there isn't a whole lot of room between the front seats and the car seats. I can pick up a second Britax tomorrow if people think it is the better car seat.

Can anyone give me there thoughts on the safety of the car seats and if one is better than another and does anyone have any experience with these car seats in a jetta or similar sized vehicle.
