In that case, I have to put it under another person's name?

not necessarily. If you cancel and sign back up, you are still considered a new customer. As long as you get a new account number you will get all the promotions. They don't keep track of name, just account number. If you need any help, feel free to PM me.

Does any one know how long it actually takes to get the free wireless device? I've had service for almost two months now and haven't been updated on the status of that offer...
Have you gone to rewardcenter.att.com to redeem it? Try going there, entering in your U-verse acct number and there should be a place for you to redeem the free device.

I currently have a 1 year service contract with Uverse with about 6 months left and recently purchased a new house where Uverse is not available - only Comcast. I won't be moving for several months since the house is still being built.

Will I be charged an ETF? Is there a way to avoid the ETF? I would keep Uverse if it were available.

You will not be charged an ETF. Since U-verse isn't available everywhere, once you call to cancel your service, explain the situation to the CSR, and they should be able to take care of your ETF for you.

hey there! This thread is helpful. I'm in GA and a very unhappy comcast customer. I'm looking for the best double play deal available with ATT (u300 lineup or higher). Any tips? I received a 100 reward promo in the mail but if there are more ways to save, I'd love to hear about it!

oh, where do I find the wiki link that you spoke about??

I had the tech come on a saturday to the new place I moved to for the install. The price was originally $100 and the rep waived the charge for me upfront. They had to run a new line to the box and set me up with a 2wire router/modem with no monthly fees. I will be using my D-link N router down the road but the current speed test pulled down 17.77 mbps and upload was ~ 2 mbps. Not bad at all for $28 per month compared to what I was paying to get a pathetic 6 mbps.
