When you give them a member id, do they actually call to confirm if its you or not? Because I signed up for it in my name and the account is on my dad's name? Does it matter, or am I better of creating a account at freelance on my dads?
The list of employers and universities that offer discounts to cell companies is longer than you'd think.
I got 20% off at&t through lowes. Then I switched to Verizon and got the same discount. Now with Bank of America I still get 20% off Verizon.
But maybe not as long as you think. I am an employee of a major private university (top 20) and was pretty astounded to find that there was no corporate discount for me. All they could do was waive the activation fee (big deal).
Good deal. But I only have 8 months left in my contract so I don't want to extend it another 24 months. The T-Mobile rep stated I would have to enter another 24 month contract to take advantage of the discount.

Anyone able to sign up for the discount w/o having to renew contract? This type of discount shouldn't though. I remember when the Freelancer discount came out, they didn't mention anything about extending your contract. Maybe it's their new policy now or reps are just trying to get you renewed to get their bonuses.
