Thread Details

So, I currently have Fios triple play bundle (extreme tv, 25/25 internet and phone) for $124.99 plus fees and taxes. Well I just renewed by just ordering a NEW service via online since I saw a BETTER triple pkg which includes ULTIMATE tv, 35/35 internet and phone for $114.99!!!!!!

All I did was go to www.verizonfios.com and type in my address for availability options. Once it said my address qualified for their services (obviously since I'm already a current customer) I picked my pkg (it showed new internet speeds and more expensive tv plan). Then I saw in the upper left hand that I could pick either no contract or 2 yr contract. I clicked 2 yr and suddenly saw the option to pick 35/35 interner AND ultimate tv and phone for CHEAPER than what i was paying.

I'll add YMMV since Fios isn't offered every where and also cause they are supposedly NOT offering 35/35 internet anymore but after missing with fios' websites including logging in first (mistake since I never found this deal doing that) going to the above website and pretending to be new customer or actually being a new cust. is best way I think. The internet is fast enough (no need for 50 or 75 MB speeds...yet lol) and for this price this combo deal is HOT! Plus Ultimate tv includes more channels including HD and also premium ones like Showtime, Cinemax, The Movie Channel, Flix, NFL redzone and others too.

Here's a screen shot to prove I was able to do it. G'luck

UPDATE: So for whatever reason the verizonfios.com website is no longer working, hmm. But I was able to replicate deal AGAIN by doing the following...
Go to: https://www22.verizon.com/FORYOUR...undle.aspx

Put in address to check availability (If you're new skip the following steps). If you are a current customer then it will state that your address is in their system. Click Yes it is my current address. Then click on NO the existing services are NOT yours. Then click on you will be moving there but will have SEPARATE billing.

Now if fios is available in your area, you can pick your bundle. Do the following exactly. If you see the options the new internet speeds MAY be there already but all I did was click on add phone service (local, regional and long distance +5 features) and VOILA you should see the reduced prices as well as 35/35 internet service. I've previously clicked on ultimate tc, 75/35 the added the phone then clicked on 2 year contract BUT it seems like the "glitch" that makes the price go down is adding the phone.
I've replicated the deal twice so this SHOULD work. Good luck.

You got switched to this plan even though you're already a fios customer? Did you just call them up?

OP, did you select upgrade or did you order as if you never had service with them before?

I first tried calling and online chat but it was USELESS and a waste. Either these people really don't know this is still possible or they are told to UPSALE everyone to the new more expensive services. Did not call just went to the website and ordered service like if I was NEW customer. It let me. I even used same name AND SS# and had no issues.

No, no renew or upgrade. Go thru like it's a NEW service. What will end up happening is if all goes well, you will get the "new" service with NEW phone number etc... and call up Verizon stating you want to cancel your current service for the new one. The way it worked with me is my current service will end a day before my NEW service kicks in. AND as a bonus I will be able to KEEP my current home number but have to call a day AFTER install to switch new number that's given w/ new contract (if you are a current customer that is..) and retrieve old number. Simple.

If it works PLEASE rep and thumbs up since there will def be lots of peeps that don't like Verizon and might TD deal or bunch of lurkers that will never show appreciation. Thanks

So basically this only works with new customers and/or those who are NOT on a contract already.

Unless of course you want to pay for two contracts -_-

Exactly! Not a good deal if you want to keep your number, which I assume most do.

Well i owe you a thanks and a rep b/c as i was poking around my acct i noticed that a bogus restore fee of $30 that i had refunded was actually billed again to my account instead of be debited. They just "credited" me again, $60. We shall see. Still working on getting my new service.

It doesn't work like that. There are FCC regulations. You need to do a verbal or paper agreement to port your number to a new account. If you cancel beforehand, I believe the number has to be inactive for 6 months before it can be assigned to another account. This keeps people from stealing someone elses number to a new account or shutting down someone elses account in order to take their number. You may think.it's stupid, but if someone has a number someone else wants (easy to remember, acronym, etc), it happens and the telecom is liable. Before making assumptions like that, double check with someone.

I spoke with a supervisor when I called fios to add a STB and asked if I could get my old number back and I was told no problem and that I could since once the service is cut my old number goes on temporary inactive state in case the customer decides to come back and that the next day I'd be able to port my old number with no issues.

And no I did not log in... Just did it like I was a new customer. As soon I got to the screen where you pick your bundle I chose add phone and I add the local long distance with 5 other features... And voila the 35/35 ultimate tv plan appears for $144.99

It goes inactive in case the customer comes back and has to be reactivated under the SAME ACCOUNT. If you are creating a NEW account. You need to do a verbal over the phone agreement to allow a number port to your new account BEFORE you cancel your old one. Or you can do it in writing. If you cancel your old account before doing this verification, you are going to be in a world of pain trying to get your number back as the number will only be allowed to be reactivated under the account it was on when it when inactive or it has to stay inactive for an X amount of time before it can be given to a new account without the agreement prior to cancelation. I work in the telecom industry and I've seen it time and and time again where people are misled and lose their number and scream bloody murder over it and even kick me out of their business because someone didn't clarify/understand the process prior to the cutover.

$144.99?
