This was originally posted in the Coupon thread, I thought this deserved it's own thread. It's a good deal, and didn't want it to get lost or forgotten about.

From September 9 to October 7, Costco B&M stores are offering B1G1 on all Goodyear wiper blades for $7.99 +tax (just $4 each). As with any Costco deal, this is while supplies last (however you can attempt to get a rain check at the CS counter), and your YMMV. Limit one offer per customer, but you can return multiple times throughout the month and stock up.

Link [costco.com] to the offer, listed in the third row from the bottom:

Awesome, my car needs new blades and I've been putting it off. I'll be needing them come winter, as that's when I can expect rain in my area. Smilie

How long can you keep the Wipers sealed in the packaging without them going bad. I'm guessing they dry out ?

If you plan to keep them a long time without using, I'd use some silicone spray/grease to preserve the rubber (and not armor all or a petroleum based oil).

/edit: it's discussed in the bobistheoilguy [bobistheoilguy.com]forum as well.

Thanks. They are discussing how to preserve once it is "on" the car especially from the Sun.

I was at Costco yesterday (SF location) and saw people buying these. I wanted to tell them that a promotion would start today, but wasn't sure if I should. I feel like this happens often and am usually uncertain about what I should do.

I actually posed this question to The Lounge in this thread.

Great deal! I got some last year. Mine have lasted 8-9 months in Ohio. Don't know if I'm not picky enough though lol

The idea is to change them every 6 months. I always end up changing them once a year.
They last, but 2 of them (out of about 10) lost the end-cap and in the worst possible moment the rubber strip was falling out :/

Mine are still going strong after 2 yrs, but I think I'll pick up another pair now for when they finally give out. I'm really impressed with these wipers and we get some heavy rain here in Houston.

While this is an amazing deal on American-made wipers, my experience has been that it doesn't always work well on all vehicles. These wipers work exceptionally well on my daily driver but is really streaky on the family SUV. Luckily, Costco has a great return policy. I even tried 2 more sets, but the result was the same on the family SUV. So, I suggest trying them out but set expectations accordingly.

Our Volvo blades were streak-free and ultra-quiet after 3.3 years(56K miles) in the central Texas sun. IF I needed blades to last, I'd sure be looking for some of those!Wink Now that I think about it, I've never changed the OEM blades on any Volvo in the past decade(we usually trade after 3-4 years). Something to be said for those original blades, I reckon.Wink
