can you do an ACH push with ally or ING with this?
I would want to know if it works from ally push. And if I can close the account or have to keep it open.

Damnit, I already have a US Bank account Frown

EDIT: TOS doesn't state you have to be a new customer, just that you have to have a package account (to waive fees). But the catch-all ". Other restrictions may apply."

Hmm, looks like I'll be giving them a call tomorrow.

they have a fee you have to pay if you close the account within 6 months.
and i think you can set something up where if you just let them automatically transfer$25 from chekcing to savings each month, then there are no fees. I just log on each month and transfer it back manually, isnce i have a low balance haha.

How would a student get around the direct deposit? Any ideas?

Makes sense and one has to wonder why someone would ask this question even if they are new to the game? I'm not disrespecting the people who don't know, but just be sensible. No entity in their right mind would just give away free money. Basically there has to be a win win. Best to all.

For those people looking for the requirements of this type of account look no further.

Thank you for contacting U.S. Bank using our online services.

We have received your request and we are more than happy to assist with your inquiry. Upon review, we show that you have a new Gold Checking account and a Package Money Market Savings account. This is called a Gold Package. As a valued U.S. Bank Gold Checking package customer, your fee waiver options are as follows:

- Maintain an average daily balance of $2500.00 or more in your checking account
- A Monthly direct deposit of $500.00 or more
- An automatic payment to a U.S. Bank Loan or Line of Credit or U.S. Bank Credit Card
- An automatic transfer to a U.S. Bank Investment

If the $25.00 transfer is cancelled, this will not effect the fee waiver options like on your previous Silver Checking account. However, if you do not maintain one of the above options, a monthly maintenance fee of $12.95 or $10.95 with online statements, will be assessed.

We do show that you have a U.S. Bank Credit Card. If you were to set up an automatic monthly payment to the credit card from your Gold Checking, this would waive the monthly fee.

I hope this information was helpful. Thank you for choosing U.S. Bank and we look forward to servicing your financial need.

Sincerely,

Melena Codekas

I'm also wondering if an ACH deposit would trigger the bonus. I'd rather not have to change my DD at my job. This would be a great combo with the US Bank Cash+ credit card.

I read once on one of these forums that U.S. bank does not pull hard on your credit report. They instead do something called an inquiry to something called ChexSystems! This pull does not impact your credit score. Can someone confirm that U.S. Bank does not do a hard pull on the credit report?

Hard pulls on credit reports are for loan and credit card applications. Chex systems is the credit report equivalent for deposit accounts.

Why not go for "student checking" option?

No monthly maintenance fee!

Can anyone help me out with reading this? I'm in OH and the T&C are different.

Looks to me like there is no fee or waiver needed for Easy Checking? I know it says otherwise on the actual site, but if I put in my zip code and read the PDF [usbank.com] it shows no fee so I just want to make sure.
