Well this is very sad.

I'm considering closing my account. USBank can kiss my ass. They woke me up at 11:40am telling me I didn't qualify because I didn't have a reoccurring direct deposit. I only had two direct deposits... they said it had to be reoccuring.. WTF

Anyone who received their $200 sign up bonus had a reoccuring direct deposit until they ACTUALLY credited you the $200???

what should I do guys??? close my account

I opened one with $2001 and the bonus posted last week. Are there any penalties for closing it now? Does it require account remain open for x months?

TIA!

I was told by a rep at the US Bank national call center that I would NOT be getting the bonus because my DD was not from my employer. This despite the fact that I was told at sign up that any ACH deposit would qualify. I decided to go in and see a rep at my local branch. They sent a request for the bonus, and a few days later it showed up in my account. Maybe worth a try for some of you....Peace.

I avoid offers like these, because they are a hassle. I switched away from big banks to a credit union and couldn't be happier.

Just try to put away some money each week to savings and you will be good Smilie

If you can manage your savings/emergency and everyday expenses money all in one checking account, then good for you. Most Americans can't.

My point was if everyone put some money to savings, they would be better off long-term. Time would be better spent on that than the hassle of signing up for one of these offers. Having to open an account,. transfer money, change direct deposit info, update payment info with creditors, print new checks etc... IMO US Bank sucks. I used them in the past. Also Wells Fargo.

well i am still a student so i get financial aid and other crap for school. I figured that if I put all my money in my savings, the government would know how much money I have in my account because you're receiving interest for money you put in a savings so they would know.

Idk but i would still never put my money in my checking account.

all my money earned are under the table.

what...no. interest is reported as earned income - the gov't isn't extrapolating how much you make based on the interest you earn. they don't even know the interest rate on the acct to begin with.
