--- For every $400 worth of Dell eGift Card(s), the purchaser receives a $75 Dell Promotional eGift Card.
--- Dell eGift Cards can be purchased in any denomination from $10 - $500.
--- To consolidate Dell purchased eGift Cards visit www.dell.com/giftcards.
--- Promotional eGift Card expires 90 days from date issued and cannot be consolidated with any other card.
--- Any unauthorized reproduction, sale or transfer constitutes fraud.
--- Offer eligible from November 6th to November 27th, 2012.
--- eGift Card purchase total is limited to $500 per single transaction.
--- Please see additional terms and conditions at http://dell.cashstar.com/about/te...onditions/.
1 - For online orders there is a limit of one gift card per order. For phone orders there is a limit of three payments.
2 - Non-promotional gift cards, aka paid cards, can be consolidated ($400+$400+$400 = 1x $1200card)
3 - Promotional cards cannot be consolidated ($50x3 = 3 separate cards) but they can be stacked (see Example 2 below)
4 - If you have a balance, your credit card counts as form of payment
5 - You can use multiple gift cards by calling in (the website limits you to one)
6 - The cards can be used at Dell Home, Dell Small Business, and Dell Outlet but not Dell Financial Services
Example 1:
Item's price ~$1325
Buy 3x $400 paid cards, get 3x $75 promo cards
The 3x $400 paid card can be consolidated into one $1200 paid card
Total Payment:
$1200 paid card
$75 promo card
$50 left over for credit card (plus tax and ship or whatnot)
*Can only use one promo card here because the residual balance will be more than the other promo card can cover and the credit card must be used to cover the rest.
Example 2:
Item's price ~$800
Buy 2x $400 paid cards, get 2x $75 promo cards
The 2x $400 paid cards can be consolidated into one $800 paid card
Total Payment:
$75 promo card
$75 promo card
$650 (plus tax and ship or whatnot) on consolidated paid card. Have $150 balance (less tax and ship) on paid card.
*Can use both promo cards here because the residual balance is a credit

Tried to get a $400 card today and got rejected. First I had to call in to "verify" and apparently that went ok. Then later when I hadn't gotten my email gift card after a few hours I call back only for them to not only tell me I was rejected, but also they specifically couldn't tell me why I was rejected. WTF?
i purchased this and i didnt get code for 3-4 hours (haven't got it yet) and now the laptop i wanted to purchase is out of stock
EDIT ---- I called them and they said that i should've received an email to call them within 2 hours of ordering to confirm the purchase (since it's the first time i am buying something). Rep said that it's their fault that the email was not sent out (wtf ??) ... he confirmed everything and i got my cards within 5 mins ...
I did this today for $400 to get the $75. It worked like a charm. Got the codes for both gift cards within 15 minutes. I then went on the Outlet site and found a system I liked. Used Chat to use the two gift cards plus a CC for the remaining balance.
got this yesterday.. called and was able to get the rep to drop down a u2412m to 300.. not sure what to do with the remaining 150$... I hope the egift card doesn't have an expiration date.
Can I used the gift card + $75 promo gift card in the same transaction? I'm looking at the $579 Samsung 51" Plasma TV, if I can basically get another $75 off on top of that then I'll pull the trigger.
So I just got off the phone with dell or a 3rd party working for dell confirming my gift card purchase. But he said he doesn't think I can use the promotional $75 with the $475.00 gift card I purchased... Did anyone have this problem ? Was anyone actually able to combine the 2 even though its "promotional" and actually get the LG Plasma deal? I'm trying to... But after that I'm now worried... any input/advice would help!!?!?!
Few minutes maybe? Seemed almost instantaneous to me. Granted as a first time buyer (in terms of the Dell gift cards) I had to call to verify I was who I was. It's a one time call to the folks who handle the Gift Cards for Dell. This was on a Sunday. So if this is your first time buying a Dell gift card be prepared to get an email telling you to call them
I broke my $400 purchases 4 ways so as not to trigger a fraud alter on my VISA. But every hour I'd order another card and a minute or two later I'd get an email with the $400 code and the $75 code right behind it.

Can somebody answer this question.
Say I found a deal and I want to purchase and use the gift cards rather quick.
Yes, but you'll have to either order through their chat or call.

He might have thought you were taking about consolidating them into a single gift card. You can use up to 3 forms of payment via chat or phone no matter the combination. Last week I bought a docking station using 2 x $75 promo gift cards and put the rest on my credit card.

Check out their accessories and software. You might find something you like. Or buy something you think you can resell on craigslist. They have the Xbox 360 4GB for $150 for instance at the moment.
For example I used mine to buying a docking station, tv tuner, and adobe acrobat pro. Few month ago I bought a Netgear router.

Bought a laptop for someone, so I got 4 $75 gift cards.
Can't find any good deals on anything right now though. I hate using promotional cards to buy things at full price - feels so wrong.
Add me to the bad experiences so far. I order a Dell gift card yesterday. I then get an email stating I need to call for further verification because it is my first time ordering. It was closed at the time I received the email yesterday so I call today. The guy tells me that my order "has been returned" and that because there was so much orders they didn't process my order. He told me to go ahead and order again.
I ordered again today. Hopefully they don't give the same email about calling for order verification and just send the gift cards.
