To make this stop happening, I checked the box
"Hide the notification when someone quotes you in a post."
but it hasn't helped.
Must I unsubscribe or ignore the thread in order to stop this from happening? Surely not!
Update: I see gevent.js has some special Safari-related reloading code, "fixLostTab"; perhaps it's to blame. This is happening in Safari (latest - 6.0.1) on Mac OS X (latest - 10.8.2). I'll see if it's Safari- only.
Are you actually getting notification popups, or are you just being redirected to usercp?
The latter. But the usercp page heading is "Notifications & Activity" and under that is
I entered Private browsing mode (equivalent to clearing cookies, I believe) and logged in again. I'm still getting redirected to to usercp, but now it displays a completely different page - is shows Message, and that I'm not logged in. Very strange. I'm going to try Firefox.
