Good side dish to bring?

jj.12321 1,437 47 November 19, 2012 at 12:41 PM in Seasonal (3)
Looking for a new suggestion for a Thanksgiving side dish to bring.
It doesn't have to be a traditional thanksgiving side dish, just something good
Ideally, it would be something that kids would like to eat too.

Here's what's already being brought in at our family (ie I can't repeat)

Mashed potatoes
Stuffing
Cranberries
Rice with cranberries
Sweet potatoes
Hash brown casserole
Rolls
Brocilli and cheese cassarole
Watergate salad
Jello with strawberries/pretzel crust/whipped cream? kind of dish

Sounds good. I'm gonna have to try that this year.

Instead of green bean casarrole, try this. Drool

FYI, if you're going to make it ahead and time and have to reheat it then under-cook the green beans (leave them a little firm) so that when you reheat them they'll be perfect.

"When I was 5 years old, my mom always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down happy. They told me I didn't understand the assignment and I told them they didn't understand life."

Brussel sprouts, of course. Make them plain so not a soul will get 10 feet from them, then add your shallots and bacon in secret and eat them all yourself. Wink

Or Twinkie fried Twinkie's in a Twinkie reduction sause.
