My dad called 7 plus times because of a billing issue and then he seen the deal for .99 and it just worked in his favor. And as far as the CS rep was talking, they DIDNT want to loose his business..

Only keep calling 7+ times if you don't value your account. Sprint has terminated service of people who call them too many times with issues.

This is active now, you have to call 1888-273-9460 .This is the retentions dept. and takes about 20 mins from start to finish. They are going to tell you they cant do it and they will only give us the 49.99 price. Just keep calling if they dont give you the price. My dad called and they said I see that you have called 7 times and your account is at risk (as in my dad was not being treated right, and he could potentially cancel the service ) what can we do. And he just said that he wanted the Sams club price match of .96, but Sprint does .99. She put him on hold a bit, but then it went thru. Good luck.

Guys This DOES work with current account eligible for upgrades too.

888-882-4030 for Everything Plus Plans. I called this number 2 times. The second time I asked to speak to their supervisor, the supervisor knew exactly what I was talking about and transfered me to Account Services. I made sure that the supervisor stayed on the line with me during the transfer. The Account Services rep was confused at first, but after she spoke to her supervisor everything was a go.

Works FINE for Sero-P Customers Smilie

For SERO legacy, when you review your account after the purchase, do you see the plan change or would this be later after receiving the phone and activating it?

Took around 40 minutes. First I was told they couldn't do the 99c because I have a special account - government discount, but then after reviewing she said they were ringing me up for the 64g version of the phone. Apparently it has the same sku number as the 16g. She finally approved it and is sending me the phone. I did have to pay an activation fee though, but I'm getting most of that back through the buyback program.

fellow SERO-P SDers, I got it to go through.

After getting shutdown by the account retentions dept I thought I would give telesales a try (888-882-4030). I spoke to a CSR name Maria who was completely unhelpful. She offered me the $199 upgrade price. She hinted at some upcoming holiday promotions and I told her that I was aware of the $49 BF price, but I was really looking to get the 99 cent price. She apologized and said that she could not match. I told her that wasnt a problem and that I would just switch carriers and get the phone at 99 cents through Sams Club. She immediately offered to speak with the account manager to see if there was anything else she could do.

After a short hold, she returned to the line with her manager (Chuck). It was smooth sailing from there. Chuck asked "so basically you want us to pricematch the S3 for 99 cents is that correct?" I said yes, he said you got it. As he was putting the order through, he mentioned that there was a $36 activation/upgrade fee. I asked if he could waive it and he said he couldnt, but that he would look for another way to help me out. After the purchase order was completed, he checked my account and said he could offer me a $25 statement credit for 2 months ($50 total).

Only drawback for me is that I am in CA so I was charged tax on the full amount. Total was $49.XX for the phone + $36 upgrade fee, but I will be getting $50 back in total statement credits.

Thanks to reel, miamijoe, and everyone else on this thread that helped out.

sero-p here, had success with a nice fellow named ryan in retention's. asked if they would price match sams and he said let me see what i can do, and then ordered it for me. got shot down on the activation fees though. he said "since were giving away the phones we can't waive activation" I had a hard time arguing with that, but i figure i'll try and battle for statement credits when the phones arive

SERO-P here and I managed to get it to go through by calling retentions. It took 4 calls, but the last one I changed my script.

I said that I saw Sam's Club was offering the S3 for $0.99 for Verizon, T-mobile, and AT&T and I was wondering if they would sell it to me for the same price. She immediately said yes (I am out of contract so that may have helped).

A few minutes later and they charged my card for $1.05. This was for the Titanium color. They would not waive activation.. offered to buy my Evo 4g for $32, but I wanted to keep that for a backup.

Was in "transfer" hell for 30 minutes going from department x to department y then z, then z transfered me back to herself. It was almost comical. Finally got transferred to another foreign female voice who after explaining my plight, got a supervisor on the phone. The English speaking supervisor set my wife and myself up (we are on the separate SEROP accounts, no linking or anything) with a 99 cent S3 in blue for each of us...
On top of that at the beginning of the order/conversation, I asked about any help for the upcoming activation fee and she looked into her computer screen world and found an available credit of $25 per month for next 3 months.

Then near the end of getting my wife's plan extended, she said also she was NOT seeing any activation $36 fee on either account (she chalked it up to the "corporate" plan that I had, she guessed...) I did not question her, just move along, nothing to see here. I'm only SERO, not any corporate plan.

So after all was said and done the Amex will be charged $1.06 for each phone (no tax on imaginary retail like I've heard other's say). Somehow avoided the activation fee and got $75 of credits on each account!

I think what I've learned most about the process is it's all a crap shoot and who transfers you to where and I guess I just got lucky. I wasn't doing anything different than you others... calling Telesales numbers, retention numbers etc. In addition to the retention number above, I called in my journey: 888-876-8381 and here's another 888-882-4030. Again I'm a Sero-P plan person and that is my journey. Thank goodness I don't have to stay up till midnight pacific, central or whatever to do this.

As always, follow the SD rule of always being nice to the folks on the other line. Sugar always gets you further than vinegar. It was my third time trying so again, if someone can't help you, it might be another call you have to make. Thank you all for sharing your experiences and for helping me on this early Christmas present! Merry Christmas.

Mojo and I sound like we had similar experiences. Glad to read of the other success stories!

I don't think Sprint offers the S3 in Titanium??? What is the model number of the phone they ordered? You should see it in the email they sent you or on the order status page online: http://www.sprint.com/personal/wi...tatus.html

Confirmed, got white one for $3 and change out the door. Wasn't a price match, she said it is a black Friday deal they are doing and that it technically starts tomorrow but they are accepting orders now.

Options were the evo lte, sgs3 16gb,or iphone4s for 99 cents. I tHey also had the iphone4s for a discount but not 99cent.

Looks like they processed my order for the S2. I'm trying to straighten it out now. I suggest everyone check your order status model number.
