Takamine has joined in the relief effort after the devastating earthquake, and subsequent tsunami and nuclear disaster in their native Japan. With the creation of the TR340S Acoustic Guitar, Takamine has pledged 100% of the profits made from the sale of this guitar to be donated to charities that have the means to put these funds to work where they are needed most.

The Takamine TR340S Tsunami Relief Acoustic Guitar is a traditional styled dreadnought acoustic with a strong connection to guitars of decades past. The TR340S boasts a solid Alaskan Sitka Spruce top along with Mahogany sides and back. The spruce soundboard produces a warm, mellow tone that artists of all genres will be well pleased with. The slim taper mahogany neck features a rosewood fingerboard, traditional dot inlays, along with a subtle Japanese flag at the 12th fret, and a satin finish that will feel comfortable in your fretting hand.. The Takamine TR340S Acoustic Guitar is an outstanding value and is perfect for home, recording or stage use, not to mention that all of the profit will go to a great cause. Case not included.

Dreadnought Body
Solid Alaskin Spruce Top
Mahogany Back & Sides
Rosewood Fingerboard
Mahogany Neck
Japanese Flag Inlay
"Play for you, Pray for all" written on pickguard
Edit: Here is an article I found that explains the history of this guitar.

The flag looks more like a red dot. It is hardly noticeable.

Got some pretty decent reviews around the net. Not too many, but the people who have this seem to like it. Should make for a nice beginner's guitar especially.

Only a small fraction of the deals that I post, if that is what you are asking. I don't have any Takamines right now. I got over GAS a long time ago.

How many do you have though? If I found these deals all the time, I'd find it hard to hold back, no matter how many I had Smilie

Actually finding deals makes it easier, because I know I'll always find another deal just around the corner.

Nice. Just picked up a vintage 70's yamaha that sounds better than most things being made today so I'll pass though.

This is a good deal for a solid top taka.

Is this a good guitar for a beginner? better than the Yamaha FG700S?
I've been waiting for Yamaha FG700S to go on sale but it never does....

Thanks heaps.

Expected to see some traditional Japanese engraving or graphical design, not a plain wooden guitar.

Shame...still a solid deal though.

A solid-top guitar for less than $200 is always a deal. They tend to put better workmanship into the costlier materials (ie. solid soundboards).

IMHO, it would be a great beginner or second guitar. The Takamine's I've played are of decent construction, though many lower-priced guitars badly need to be setup when they first come home from the store.

Personally, I like rosewood on the back/sides instead of the mahogany. If I needed/wanted (and could afford) another dreadnaught, I'd be interested...

Check craigslist for the Yamaha. I picked one up for $100 in like new condition earlier this year.

I've been looking for a good cheap guitar.

This is cheap, I hope it is good. Ordered.

Got my guitar, it is awesome. Very well crafted. Rich tone. Well intonated. Fretted notes are precisely in tune with open ones creating beautiful harmonization. Even though inexpensive, this worthy of the Takamine name. Nicest acoustic guitar I have had. Thanks for the deal.

Got mine too. The setup was good out of the box. Everything looks and feels right. The woods aren't "perfect", there is some character here and there (appropriate for the price), but the sound is nice. Great value for the money.

Thanks again for posting the deal, I'm glad I got in on this.
