4MyRebate

madaz 18 December 12, 2012 at 06:17 PM
Hey guys, just wanted to know how long does it take after you mailed in the required documents for 4MyRebate to update the status of your rebate from the "Rebate Tracking" Page. I sent in my rebate 2 and a half weeks ago and it still hasn't shown anything other than "Claim Completed, Awaiting Receipt of Documentation". The last time, which was in September, I submitted a rebate to 4MyRebate I ended up never getting the rebate and I called in and after 30 minutes of being on hold a rude representative said it "got lost in the mail" and they couldn't do anything about it. If this one also gets "lost in the mail" also, then I'm convinced these guys are total scam artists and will never buy anything involving 4MyRebate ever again.

Could you guys provide me with some feedback as to what the process is, submitting documentation, how long does it take for the website to update the status of your rebate, etc...

Thanks!

I received an email this morning notifying my $40 rebate was denied because it stated the original upc code was missing. My first call ended abruptly after the customer representative hung up on me, appearing as though he never heard me speak. My second call landed in somebody's voicemail box. My third call had me waiting for a representative for about 8 minutes during which I came to this page with a sick feeling I've been screwed.

Finally Theresa answered and I explained my situation and noted that my upc was attached and it is clearly marked on the Samsung box as "UPC" so I know I sent the right one in. Also, the scan was just a black outline of the cutout of my upc, of which one corner was clearly cut at an angle and was identifiable. After about a minute of stating my case, Theresa reversed the decision and processed my rebate. As I typed this out, I received the confirmation email with the subject "Rebate Processed".

This was my second time using 4myrebate with the first not having any issues. Overall I'm obvously happy that Theresa handled my call and did the right thing as she kept a customer.

Also, thanks for the idea of scanning my completed rebate form before submitting, especially the upc. After this debacle, I will definitely be doing that in the future. I never thought to do it in the past as I never had an issue.

ALWAYS, and I mean ALWAYS make back-up copies of all your rebate documentation. You simply can't rely on these companies to always fulfill their rebates as promised. If you don't have any proof of what you sent in... you will be out the rebate money and have no way to return the product (even if the retailer makes an exception), because the UPC is gone.

All 4MyRebate forms even recommend it:
"It is recommended to keep copies of all materials submitted for your records"

That's a warning right there that if you don't, we might try to screw you. LMAO

"If you prefer a check, simply call the toll free number on the back of the Reward Card upon receipt and follow the telephone prompts."

What's complicated?

Call the number on the back of the card, enter your card information, and select the option to talk to a person (iirc 5 for other then 0 for person). Tell them you would like to request a refund via check or ACH/direct deposit..
