Looks like California will be charging 911 fee for prepaid phone
http://www.kpvi.com/business/stor...NUCgg.cspx

People in CA may want to contact their local Representative.
29 other states, including Arizona and Utah, have adopted similar fees on prepaid wireless customers

I just ordered a card and the Pay as you go plan and it looks like the SIM's available are now all micro ones or a combo of micro/mini ones. Thanks!

I'm not sure which plan I want (the $40 or $50 one). Can I buy a bunch of $40 refill cards, and then switch my plan to the $50 / month after a month (and still use the $40 cards to pay)?

This is also my question. I'm guessing the cards are not interchangeable though, b/c Ptel is giving some basic free phones out but only if you do the monthly plan 1x, you can't buy a pay as you go card and get a free phone so I'm thinking the two types of cards are not interchangeble, if that's what you meant by $40 refill cards to buy into a monthly plan...

I bought 6. I did not load more than one account at a time. Been doing this for the last 3 months. I top up after the one month is over (and getting a call from the wife that she can't make any calls Wink). I then top-up and its reactive in few minutes.

I dont top-up more than one because I dont ttrust their system is setup well to manage this. Once I topped up before the expiry and it reset the data limit already (it should reset the data limit after the month end). Hence, just hold on to it.

Seems like this promo is on for quite sometime. I just bought 2 more months yesterday. they ship super fast though.

Just to confirm that your cards are the pay-go ones, right? So to order more than 1, you have to order each 1 by 1 with the code and also will get multiple SIM cards then (which I know is probably good to have extras)? Thanks in advance.

I contacted them about a month ago, and they said they are not interchangeable.

Take your ignorant, republican butthurt and move to an unincorporated hellhole if you don't want to pay for 911 service.

Why in the world would brand this poster as a republican!

Why in the world would anyone complain about paying for 911 service and ask others to actively block legislation to pay for it? Short-sighted ignorance against "big bad taxes" is the republican way now.
