its just about quality people. shielding, internal gauge of wiring, quality of connector and cable boot/strain relief.
those cheapies are $1 for a reason.
Its a moot argument though, you can still find identical quality cables for $2-4 in the 6' range. Just saying. Monster are always more expensive due to their marketing. And if you watch sales, you can find name brand quality cables for $1-2 easy. I have many....
At 4ft it makes absolutely zero difference regardless of gauge, and no one in the right mind is going to plug/unplug/bend HDMI cables all the time in order to need strain relief etc.
Seriously, this is digital. Would you buy a SATA cable with higher gauge and better strain relief?
It -can- make a difference if you have an electronically 'noisy' environment and/or are passing the cable through switches or splitters.
Some people do want assurance that disconnecting, reconnecting and bending/training of cables isnt going to cause problems. Ive had cheap cables fall apart in tight HDMI sockets on more than one occasion.
and hey, maybe someone needs a 4ft cable specifically!
