Among the highlights of Feinstein's :oldhag: proposed bill:
  • ban rifles, handguns, shotguns with one 'military characteristic' Confused
  • ban >10 round magazines
  • grandfathered pre-ban weapons must be registered as NFA items with the owners photographed and fingerprinted (*cough* un-Constitutional *cough*)
  • banning thumbhole stocks Roll Eyes (Sarcastic) :pointless:

Diane Feinstein's Net Worth = $70 million US Dollars

She doesn't live in your neighborhood. She probably travels with security wherever she goes as well.

One of Diane Feinstein's homes in Washington DC area: http://virtualglobetrotting.com/m...ins-house/ (notice, it's not in the ghetto that comprises most of Washington DC residential addresses.)

Given the type of weapons that our military possesses, how will an AR-15 help you overthrow it?
It doesn't matter if we can or not. Point is that we have the constitutional right to protect ourselves just in case.

And I personally prefer a 30.06 w/ scope. Good stopping power there and I could put down a grizzly if I wanted. It's sure enough to put down a man.

BTW: you do realize that armor piercing rounds are available to us mere citizens, correct? A friend of mine paid cash for some at a Walmart recently. I pity the poor bastards who try to take his guns away. And yes, he's an excellent shot, even under pressure. He doesn't like deer hunting because it's not challenging and he has to clean the damn thing afterwards (he spent a total of 10 minutes hunting deer before bagging a buck last year).

First I don't think anyone is suggesting an overthrow.
Second, if an AR-15 isn't enough firepower, we already have too much gun control. Besides have you ever heard of the concept of a liberator gun?
Finally, people are forgetting that soldiers are American citizens too. Many of them disagree with gun control too. If things ever got to the point where the SHTF, how many soldiers would refuse to fire on their fellow Americans? How will the ranks split between taking sides? These are variables no one will know until the SHTF.

Besides, I don't know if a gun will save my life if the time ever comes to need one, but it certainly will give me a fighting chance and a fighting chance is all I ask for.

Oh, and there are self-aiming scopes available as well...

... to the public. Basically, it can turn any half-wit into a bona fide sniper! Heck, for $17,000 bucks, you can own a gun that shoots itself when locked on target. [npr.org]

I think we mere citizens can put up a pretty good fight if push comes to shove.

I see this argument all the time and it's really getting tiring... This argument only works if you truly believe that members of the US military would just drive tanks into cities and start obliterating thousands of people at a time with their guns based on an order from some politician they've never met. laugh out loud I mean do you honestly think the military, half of which lean one way over the other, would just blindly massacre their friends and families based on orders from the president?

Guns keep the government in check at an extreme level (rise of a dictator for instance). Yes the citizens are out gunned but there are 300 million guns in the country and only 1.5 million active members of the military in which only a fraction have any kind of combat experience. Assuming a good portion of those defect and, well you get the point on numbers.

Basically it comes down to this: Yes, the US Military can defeat the US Citizenry in an all out war. Absolutely no one can deny that. However the number of casualties and the complete decimation of this country that would be required to win the war is the reason why no one in the government would ever even attempt it. In theory the guns don't give us the ability to over throw the government, they simply give us the power to ensure the people aren't overthrown by the government.

Feinstein was born Dianne Emiel Goldman in San Francisco, to Betty (née Rosenburg), a former model, and Leon Goldman, a nationally renowned surgeon. Feinstein's paternal grandparents were Jewish emigrants from Poland, while her maternal grandparents, who were of the Russian Orthodox faith, left St. Petersburg, Russia, after the 1917 Russian Revolution. Her mother's surname, "Rosenburg", originates from German ancestry. Feinstein has identified her own religion as Jewish

Richard C. Blum is a Jewish-American investment banker. He is the husband of United States Senator from California Dianne Feinstein. He is the Chairman and President of Blum Capital, an equity investment management firm that acts as general partner for various investment partnerships and provides investment advisory services. Blum also serves in various boards of directors of several companies, including CB Richard Ellis.

Both are dual citizens with Israel. I wonder how many other senators and reps we have in office that happen to be "dual citizens"!?
