FREE - BMI Challenge
The BMI Challenge is completely free and pays you $100 if you get to a healthy weight after 1-year. To qualify for the BMI Challenge you have to start with a Body Mass Index (BMI) above 30. Your BMI is a ratio of your height to your weight. Use the BMI calculator to see if you qualify http://www.presidentschallenge.or...i-calc.php If you'd like to earn greater prizes and have additional motivation pay $300 to get paid $1000 for winning the BMI Challenge.

Step 1 - Register online at healthywage.com by choosing the BMI challenge

Step 2 - Get your starting weight verified and check-in weekly
After you sign-up, you need to get one verified weigh-in. You have two options:
(1) use our private weight verification video tool, or (2) visit your doctor, health club, or one of our thousands of health club partners throughout the country. You do not have to be a member of a health club to join the challenge. After that, your weekly weigh-ins do NOT need to be verified; you just self-report your weight on the website (takes less than a minute).

Step 3 - Get to a healthy weight and get paid
Get to a BMI below 25 after exactly 1-year and win the cash prize. You'll get your ending weight verified by your doctor or health club. Payment will be made via check or paypal.

You will be sued if you make a disparaging remark about the program:

"This Sour Grapes Clause applies regardless of the reason for the sour grapes, and applies even when the Participant was disqualified by HealthyWage for a rules violation, whether the violation was caused by the Participant or by someone else, and whether the Participant agrees with HealthyWage's ruling or not. Participant covenants and agrees that he/she will not say anything disparaging about HealthyWage via any means, including electronic media (including but not limited to email, Twitter and Facebook), written media (including but not limited to letters, press and advertisements), and spoken word, for two years following the end of the challenge. This includes all disparaging remarks whether true or false. Participant understands that sour grapes can cause serious damage to HealthyWage and Participant hereby agrees to be financially responsible for such damages and to pay any and all legal costs and fees, including attorneys fees, that HealthyWage incurs in any successful action against the Participant for violating this clause, even if HealthyWage's damages are small."

Make sure you read the T&C [healthywage.com] before signing up. The "V. Sour Grapes Clause" section is just silly. You cannot say anything bad about the company on Facebook/Twitter or else they can come after you...
Quote :
Participant agrees that the word "disparagement," as used in this section, shall be construed very broadly, and that damages shall be presumed to be not less than $1,500 per disparaging remark, and possibly much, much more.
This program is for people who need to lose weight, not for those already at a healthy weight!

It seems that losing 10% of the body weight in 6 months now only pays about 11% (In contrast to 100% during the 10% Challenge) :-(

I'm 175 and 5'10'' and have a 25.5 bmi. If I lose 10% of my body weight, I would be 157.5 and way underweight. I'm very confused about this program.
Similar here..5' 11" and 175 lbs. trying to figure out how to get on this deal and end up not being underweight...

Pretty sure taxpayers will somehow be footing this payout. Yay America, anything else? OMG
HealthyWage is sponsored by corporate and government
We spend a lot more on fat people in this country than $150 per person. If this helps people lose weight it's probably a win-win, but I wouldn't expect you to believe that with your usericon.

This is crazy. Does that make me crazy for considering it?

I would think that having $150 of my own money at stake would be a pretty good motivator.

Only problem I see is if you have to login and verify your weight every week. If you miss 3 weeks you are disqualified. I could see myself easily doing that.

I signed up. Based on principle alone, I wouldn't allow myself to lose the $150. Who's brave enough to do the >30 to <25 BMI challenge? $300 and $1000 pay out but man, that would be tough.

you are betting a $150 bucks on your self to lose 10% body weight.
interesting site.
if i lose 10% of my body weight. i think i would be losing too much
of my hard earned muscle mass. TU but not going in on this one.
Drink 2 gallons of water (or beer) immediately before seeing your doctor and weigh in. That adds up 16 lbs to your weight. If you weigh 160 lbs, you can lose 10% of your weight in half an hour after you pee. EEK!

I bet the redemption rate will be lower than for rebates. A lot of people will be losing $150 here, and who knows how easy it will turn out to be to claim your $300 if you actually lose the weight.

Need to lose about 41 pounds to get to get a BMI of 25. Hmm, the problem with BMI is that it doesn't take into account any muscle gain, which makes this very skewed and difficult indeed.

I'm actually skinny/fat with stick arms and a belly. I make no sense physically.
No, you make sense, but not the good kind. Storing all your fat in your belly region can actually be worse for a lot of other conditions, arterial plaque, bad for your organs and hormone secretion due to it.

What r the chances they will be around to pay back 300? I can do 10% reduction in 1 month (water itself can do over 5% diff without going extremes.)

I don't think this company will have any problem being around. People will use this as a motivator to lose weight, but at the end of the day, most people that need to lose weight just give up quite easily. If the increased risk of heart disease, several types of cancers, and death aren't motivation enough, losing the $150 isn't going to be a big deal to most overweight or obese people. This company is banking on the fact that most people that start diets never stick with it. And if they do, they lose the 15 pounds they wanted to and gain it all back once they feel they've reached their goal. But, a bet on yourself is always the best kind of bet. So I applaud anyone who tries this and succeeds.

I would have to lose 50 lbs to get to a BMI of 25 from ~33. Pretty unrealistic considering I haven't weighed that little since I was 16.... I would like to get down to 190 by summer though...

not to unrealistic... you have a year to do it, 55 weeks in a year so thats less than a pound a week.
A healthy goal is 1-2 pounds a week so you could possibly do it in 6 months if you had the proper motivation. I say go for it and make that thousand bucks Stick Out Tongue
