I don't know much about miles and rewards. Is 1,000 Southwest Rewards Points equal to approximately $16?

Thanks,

That's right, it's 60 points per dollar.

Thanks! I had no idea what the points were worth, so I did a Google search and spent 20 seconds figuring it out. I found a Southwest website that says 50,000 points is equal to $800, so I did the math from there.

I've given you reputation points (your first four ever!),

Actually, I literally just booked a flight on Southwest and it fluctuated between 54-57 points per $1, so 1,000 points could be worth anywhere from my quoted $16.67 to $18.51+ !

It actually is exactly 60 points per $1 for base fare. However, another benefit is that you can avoid some of the extra fees/taxes when you book with rewards. That means that your net per point value will fluctuate depending on how much your base fare was in relation to taxes/fees.

Is Turbo Tax easy to use with multiple jobs that don't all have the same type of form?

I have a Southwest Rewards Visa Credit Card through Chase....you earn 1 point/$1 spent anywhere, and another bonus 1 point/$1 spend on Southwest Airlines and any of their numerous partners (hotels, rental cars, etc.).

Also, you earn points by just flying on Southwest Airlines and inputting your Rapid Rewards # when you book (can be done after you book as well).

Details here: http://www.southwest.com/rapidrewards

Good to know...I wondered how it could be different across the board. Repped!
