I just recieved two identical discounts like that for my "local" shopping store. Used to be Village Market, but someone bought them out. They put up to $25 each on your Yes card for up to 2 transferred prescriptions.

I work at walgreens pharmacy and they didn't honor your prescription because there wasn't any refills remaining on it..therefore there is nothing to transfer! You actually need refills remaining on your prescription when you transfer it, otherwise, it wouldn't make any sense. Oh and government issued insurances would also negate your gift card eligibility.

this really isn't a "deal" and shouldn't be in the forums.

1) it's been available for a while
2) you don't see yourself jumping between doctors for $25, why should you be doing the same for pharmacy?

Walgreens wouldn't let me use this when I brought in three brand new prescriptions from the doctor's office for my son the other day. Because they were deemed "new" prescriptions, rather then actual transfers from a different pharmacy, they wouldn't let me apply the coupon for this in their flyer. I was bummed. Most of our prescriptions are for kid things like antibiotics that are one-time-only, so we don't get to use them more than once.

Walgreen's rx medications are grossly overpriced. that lil 25 gift card will see a 3 to 5 dollar profit on most meds.

I've done this with 2 scripts from CVS to Walgreens. CVS actually called to see if they had done anything to upset me! I don't plan on bouncing back and forth, but getting paid for asthma meds I have to fill anyway is excellent. Smilie

the only reason walgreens offer the gift card is to steal business from other pharmacies. they wouldn't just give you 25$ for every prescription you bring to them! i would say just ask your doctor to give you a refill on something relatively inexpensive next time so you can get the gift card Smilie

Walgreens wouldn't let me use this. They say the system denied without any reason. I have BCBS of MA and working for a public company. They asked me to call 1-800 number and log a complaint. I said I can't do and I will just transfer back to CVS.

This is not about 25 dollars. This is so stupid of Walgreens.

Any idea if I could transfer back a prescription that I originally transferred to Safeway?

Yes it is really a deal and the other deals you refer to EXPIRED. this is a new coupon with a new expiration date. if you don't want to mess with it, that's your business, but don't tell others what/how they should do things.

This same Walgreens coupon has been on their website for months - I first printed one out with the 5.31.13 expiration date back in September.

I've used this successfully twice now, and didn't even use a coupon (wasn't aware I was supposed to). I just made a point of telling the person checking me out in pharmacy that it was a transferred prescription. Once they double-checked to verify this it took a minute or two and I had my $25 gift card.
