Went to the store and they are only good for 12 months, look at the most recent review also. BB told me I have to take it up with xbox. They suck and so does their customer service!
Note if you bought the Halo 4, 13 month card online with store pickup and Best Buy substitute it for a 12 month only card (like the Black Ops II 12 month card they gave me), call 1 888 237 8289 for Best Buy support and explain that you didn't get the extra month you paid for. They will connect you with Microsoft Xbox 360 support who will send out a 1 month code by email whilst you are on the phone. You must persevere though! I was disconnected four times and it took me over an hour to get this sorted, but I wasn't going to be cheated out of the bonus month I effectively paid for!
called BB 4 times:
1) told that code should give 13 month even though label was for 12 (complete bs, confirmed with xbox live support)
2) got dropped
3) told to call @gamer mag
4) finally got rep who gave me $3 credit back for the missing bonus month
Had this happen to me too. Tried calling today and they were zero help. They blamed Microsoft so I contacted Microsoft. Microsoft confirmed BB sent me only a 12 month card and that the cards in question were NEVER at a 13 month balance. I complained on BB facebook page but doubtful anything will happen. My time is more valuable than this
