Sounds like the NHL and NHLPA finally agreed on a deal.

Now who's ready for some hockey??

I can't find any PMs from them. I sent a reminder to restart the league but haven't seen anything yet.

If he doesn't create it by the middle of the week, I may create a new one if there's enough interest.

I'm in, though you could just get as many SDers in a private league and then open it public a day or two before the draft to fill in the blanks.

The number of teams has varied over the years. We went from 12 to 8 to 6 last season.

I'll wait until Wed, then make a new league if our current one doesn't get renewed.

Or it could be sloppy, poorly played on defense, and will be a run and shoot affair. After the last lockout, it wasn't pretty defensively as defensemen were out of shape and out of rhythm so they didn't hit their stride until the playoffs.
Great! This bodes fantastic for offense heavy teams with good goalies! We'll just write off the Blue Jackets now then even more than before. Sadwalk

At least we'll get a good draft pick? Oh wait, we've never won the lottery in 10 tries either.

You mean Nash for Anisimov, Dubinsky & Erixon didn't make them a contender?!

Ouch, low blow. That said, it wasn't such a bad trade.

Not horrible, but not the game changer that it should have been for both sides. Our ownership is a complete joke which has made the club the laughingstock of the league.

I will say that adding John Davidson over the hockey operations might make a difference down the road, but only if the GM and Team President stay the hell out of his way. Putting a beloved family accountant (Mike Priest) in charge of a hockey club has not done much in the way of keeping the fan base willing to pay any money to see this team play.

The end of the lockout probably did save the team from going under though in a few years as they at least have a chance of getting some season ticket renewals, many of which are up this year.

C-bus has had years of poor decisions, players that came in past their prime (Fedorov, Modin, Umberger), players that just haven't worked out (Klesla, Mason). They've had a lot of high draft picks but most have been busts or traded away too soon.

They've got a nice arena and a decent fan base, but Columbus is a college town and probably always will be.

Scott Gomez and Wade Redden were placed on unconditional waivers yesterday for the purpose of being bought out.

Two really really awful signings by the NY Rangers!

Scratchhead I wonder how many disgruntled hockey fans and fantasy hockey fans there are out there. Wonders if this is why the league is having difficulties being filled before the draft.

Several blowouts tonight. Washington got destroyed, Carolina got trounced, and Detroit getting shut out as of right now. Insanity.
