Just curious - does anyone know why the original (non-Bass) version of Rocksmith asks you if you are using a guitar or a bass when you start to playing if it doesn't support bass? Does it just let you play the guitar parts on bass or something?
LOL. Selecting bass takes you to the DLC buying screen.
If you pick this game up make sure you have the proper audio setup, particularly if you are on an X box or PS3. If you are running audio through HDMI the latency between hitting the strings and the sound that comes out is so bad it's not even worth playing. Old school red and white analog audio cables are the way to go.
Latency still too high for me even with analog cables on PS3. You also have to a receiver that doesn't delay the signal. My Onkyo doesn't have multi-inputs and so it adds delay
Some receivers just have really high latency built in. As a last resort, you can connect the audio cables directly to powered speakers (e.g. computer speakers) and that will give you the lowest possible latency.
I bought this cable to use with Guitar Rig 5 and Garage Band mainly. Before this, I bought a USB guitar interface from amazon which turned out to be quite noisy and unusable. Returned it and bought this based on reviews.
Just got it today. Tested with Garage Band and Guitar Rig 5. WOW. Absolutely no noise, no crackling sounds. No latency too (25 ms with 512 samples in Guitar Rig). Build quality also looks amazing.
Shipping was crazy slow though. took more than a week to get it. Still, totally worth the wait!
