I just did this, so I thought I would share in hopes that it helps someone.

I know this is not a new offer. But if you go directly to chase or united web site, the offer is 30K, while this link gets you 55k.

I have a trip for my family of 4 from Chicago to Jacksonville in March. So at the very least I think this gets me to check a bag for free.

I had a united card years ago from Chase. This is a united explorer. Usually Chase doesn't allow you to get the same offer twice. So it will be interesting to see if I get the bonus points (YMMV).

https://www.united.com/web/en-US/...thatsaplus

I got immediate acceptance.

This is DEAD

ONLY 30K now

"Previous and existing United MileagePlus Visa cardmembers/accounts are not eligible for this bonus offer."

Use this link to get additional $50 statement credit: -- This is DEAD

Code:
https://www.theexplorercard.com/MPYoureIn50k50AFWIC.aspx
Please follow ALL of the steps below to get the 50k offer PLUS $50 statement credit:

1. You need to sign into your united mileageplus account (or sign up for one if you don't have one). You will probably see the link for the 50k offer, but don't click that one because you may not get the $50 statement credit.

2. You will need RECENT activity on your mileageplus account in order to see 50k offer. Otherwise, you will see only 30k.

3. If you do not have recent activity, sign up for an account at bckstgr dot com. From there, you can link your facebook and/or twitter account for some miles. Miles should hit soon after you do this, BUT you may need to refresh your Cache or close/switch browsers in order to see this on your mileageplus account.

(bckstgr can be finicky but appears to be working now)

4. Try the link again and confirm that you see BOTH the 50k offer and $50 statement credit (see uploaded screenshot). If you don't see the statement credit, try searching for a flight and the banner on the search page should include the credit (as of 3/17/2013)

5. Most are approved instantly. If you are not, you may check the status of the application by calling the reconsideration number (888-245-0625) - I needed to move credit line from some of my other underutilized chase cards I had opened for promos (thanks SD!).

Promo:

50,000 bonus miles after you spend $1,000 in the first 3 months your account is open.

5,000 bonus miles after you add an authorized user to your account and make a purchase with your card during the first 3 months as a Cardmember.

10,000 bonus miles every calendar year you spend at least $25,000 on your Card.

Additional benefits with card:

*two United Club lounge passes each year

*waived baggage fee on first checked bag on United flights

Annual fee waived in first year, $95 after that. Some report being able to regularly get the fee waived by threatening to cancel.

Credit goes to bombnthud at Flyertalk and rhornback at SD.

If you have already signed up for this card within the last 90days you can send a secure message to customer service and tell them you saw the 50k +50 offer today and you would like your account to reflect this newer offer.. in 99% of cases they will credit your account without having to show the pdf for proof. 90 days is the limit.

** If bckstgr isn't working for opening an account and you're looking for a quick way to add Mileage Rewards points recent activity to your account so you can see the upgraded 50k mile offer instead of 30k, you can open a United Dining account. You can dine at a participating restaurant in your area with the registered credit card and the points will show up in your Mileage Plus account in a couple of days. The link to United Dining is:

I have the miles posted now (took 20-30 minutes). My wife got the 50k offer but didn't get accepted immediately. I still have the 30k offer.
I used the original link in this thread - it asked me to login again. I got the 50k offer. Then I used the second link again and got the 50k + $50 offer. Applied and got accepted immediately - $20,000 credit limit.

For those who only sees 30K offer, you need to have some miles in your mileage account (cannot be zero miles there).
Also, try to search for air tickets and you will see 55K+$50 statement credit offer, which is even sweeter.
I just got instantly approved. It is not targeted.
I have several thousand miles in my MP account.(took two TPAC trips in the last 3 months,
as well as a couple of shorthaul flights on *A carriers)

However, I'm still only seeing the 30000-mile offer. Frown I have never applied for a UA
credit card...

Any help appreciated! Smilie

Make sure you get the $50 credit. After you do the bckstgr.com miles you sign into united.com and do a flight search. on the page with flight search results the deal will include the $50 credit.

For bckstgr if you do this and its not showing the miles in your united account yet then use a different browser and it will appear. It seems to get stuck in cookies or cache for about 12 hours if you use the same browser but if you change browsers it can be as quick as a few minutes

If you previously have other versions of the United card (not the united explorer) would you still be eligible for the 50K miles? TIA
I had the United MileagePlus card about 2 years ago as well as the Continental Card which started to show as a United card after the merger, they sent me a targeted offer for the United Explorer Card and I did receive the bonus miles.

fresh miles? one of the NRT-ORD flights was posted just last week.(January 10)
can't get any fresher than that! Frown I have done the bcksgr deal previously, so
I guess I'll have to look into something else. I do have a ORD-NRT-SIN flight
coming up on the 29th...

I'm not sure what united calls fresh miles. I would think a recent flight should count. Did you try logging into united and doing a flight search to see if the 50k deals pops up for you? Maybe that will work instead of the link in OP

tenwinecans maybe you haven't done all the bckstgr stuff yet. In the USA section there is a chef you can like on facebook for 10 points that should do it

Any possibility to get it somehow?

Yeah same. I just signed up using the original link without the $50 statement credit. Perhaps do a secure message with Chase and showing a copy of the $50 statement credit page?

Try calling. People seem to have success getting the bonus bumps and other extras when its still available. Just say you hit the wrong link and you wanted the $50 credit. Worth a try

I linked facebook and twitter (its an option under "my account" at the top right) and got 500 points posted on my account within minutes.

Not sure if I need another CC though...

I signed up to backstgr but did not get any miles at all? (I am supposed to get 100 miles, right?)
Do I have to link my bckstgr to twitter/facebook to get any miles?
