More of an FYI than a deal, but current Discover More card holders should phone in to product change to a Discover IT. The IT is better in every way - it has
better rewards: (same category bonuses, but with 1% cash back from the first dollar instead of after 3k)
and lower fees: waived overlimit fee and fee for first late payment, lower interest rates.

Phone in to switch, no credit pull.

If you don't have a Discover More card, consider holding off on applying for a Discover IT until there is a cash bonus offer.

If you take advantage of an offer on our site, Slickdeals may receive a commission.

You can also use Live Chat toswitch over from More to IT.

As for the PayPal sending, this is what a CSR said "The paypal is a special promotion for certain accounts, so if you have it on the account now it will be on the Discover IT."

Just for the Card design freaks...You get to keep the current Discover More card(if you have it already)until it expires.

Does Discover It come with:

Purchase Protection
Extended Product Warranty.
Return Guarantee

Discover added this to the More but not sure if it comes with the It card.

How do I know if my Discover card is a MORE card or not? When I signed up for it it's just a regular Discover card....

I tried searching for the Discover MORE card but can't find it, is the MORE = the regular normal disocver card??

Pretty sure the MORE = the normal regular card...

I tried googling DISCOVER MORE with google images....no exact results found.

Maybe it's just a more sophisticated name for it..

I have the same question. However, my Discover card doesn't have the $3k minimum for 1% cashback (I don't think) so I am not sure if it's the same.

I made the switch to IT a couple weeks ago and it was painless.
Just called in, spoke to a CSR and 5 minutes later the conversion was in process.

They cant do the actual conversion until day 1 of a new billing cycle so my card wont be here for a couple more days but it is on the way. My account online is already showing "IT" as of today Smilie

There really is no downside.
You still qualify for the 5% quarterly bonuses. You still get shopdiscover.com. No changes in APR and if you're late with your payment you get 1 freebie (No penalty, No APR boost).

Plus for those of us who aren't HUGE spenders the 1% on ALL purchases from the first dollar is a big step up from .25% on the first $3000.
does your account show Purchase Protection, Return Protection, etc Benefits? These are included with Discover More, not sure if Discover It has them as well.

When yyou login to your account, Look for the discover card image. There is a 'Card Info' link which popups a screen showing your card information and benefits. There it will say 'Discover MORE' card. I did that yesterday and converted to Discover IT. bulb

Login to discover.com
Click on Card Info located underneath your card design pics (underneath where it says DISCOVER CARD Ending in 1234, where 1234 are your last 4 digits of CC).

It should say Card Type: Discover More Card.

Actually, I'm pretty sure Discover doesn't give CB on Amazon purchases. Amazon isn't on their list of retailers. I could be wrong though and maybe they added amazon.
I believe that all purchases get cashback but certain retailers have special rules. For example, Walmart ALWAYS earns 0.25% with the Discover More card because it's a "discount" store or whatever.

If it's not part of the 5% categories Discover it pays 1% "everywhere else".....Amazon is part of "everywhere else". Is this clear now?
