Deal Details

For all you tennis players out there, here's a pretty smoking deal on some of the best tennis-specific shoes I've tried - Asics Gel Resolution 4's. They're on sale at Amazon for $60.32 shipped (black version) or $62.98 shipped (white ). There's also a special promo going on for signing up for Amazon's Shoe email subscription (first time subscriptions only), where you can get another 20% off of one order of qualified shoes, when they email you the one-time promo code. So, you can get these shoes for about $48 or $50 delivered! The cheapest available right now is $79.99 elsewhere like Tennis Warehouse, etc. The shoes are very comfortable, stable and come with a 6-month guarantee. As of now, there seem to be plenty of sizes available. Here's the link:

The link to the email subscription promo:

Some of the smaller sizes in the BLACK are OOS fulfilled by Amazon, but anything size 8.5 and up seem to still be in stock.

I have the Gel Resolution 3 shoes (which I bought for $100 on sale) which are the previous generation, and they have lasted me over a year and a half so far. I'm really rough on my shoes and normally shoes don't last longer than 6-9 months for me. I'm a 4.0 player.
Wow! That's a pretty long time! Is that on hard courts or clay?

Hate to spend too much for a shoe but play tennis every week.. are these really worth spending 50$ ?
When you roll your ankle or get some type of injury, do not come crying on here. These are actual "tennis" shoes and have been made with the extra padding and cushioning to prevent from certain injuries when you are running side to side along the court, which is why they are heavier than avg. tennis shoes.

Thanks.. I play at a somewhat serious level too (3.5 - 4.0 level)... any idea how long these last? I had adidas tennis shoes that I got from jcpenney on sale and they didnt last in the hard courts too much.. now i'm playing with my new balance running shoes and i feel comfortable in them but don't want to ruin them as I use them for occasional running as well..
Depends on your actual lvl in a way... if you actually play your level, as I am around there. You should be able to make use of that 6 month warranty. It depends on your footwork and movement to wear out the shoe.

$50 on tennis shoes are very reasonable. on most specified athletic shoes, imho.

i was spend that much in the 80s on adidas stefan edberg shoes. they were made in germany at the time, like most of the adidas.

just fyi, gas was $1.2-1.5/gal at the time

Got mine. I ordered 1/2 size smaller, it's tight and a little bit small, my big toe just touched the front. Returned.

Are these ok for squash?
get badminton/volleyball shoes instead. the soles for tennis shoes arent ideal for sports like baddy vball and squash

not really. again, soles are different
get badminton shoes. yonex/victor/asics/etc (they tend to be pricey tho but worth it)
if youre a beginner tho, running/tennis shoes will do just fine

Just got the white ones for $50. Excellent deal. I got the normal size I wear, not 1/2 lower like the site suggests. It fits very well.

Would the shoe be too small if it's a little bit tight? My toes, ranging from my small toe to my middle toe, touch the ends of the shoe, whereas my big toe is fine
