Sceptre X405BV-FHD TV - picture setting recommendations?

mrstangblb 2,153 679 January 18, 2013 at 07:02 AM
I bought a Sceptre X405BV-FHD TV for my Aunt for Christmas, and I haven't adjusted the picture very much at all. I've done some searches and can't find solid info on picture settings that others have tried on it.

Do any of you have any recommendations? I'd like to get it set as nice as I can for her when I get back down there next week. Thanks for any help!

#2 is where I see most people putting calibration settings although these guys usually provide data on the mid to high end of the market of TV's. Not sure how much luck you will have finding settings for this manufacture.

Unless your aunt and uncle really want that reference look I wouldn't bother. The reference look although technically better makes normal TV look kind of dull because the brightness is always turned way down. Most consumers prefer a brighter whiter look for broadcast tv and things like sports. If it has a movie mode you might try and customize that but my guesses are the average consumer will just leave it on one setting they like for everything.

Thanks for the info, and yes, I did check the AVS Forums but haven't seen anything much at all on this Sceptre TV. I'll keep tweaking it for her to see what I can do.

you just need to find a DVD that has the test pattern and setup test on it and use that

all these DVD have a calibration application included
