Symantec Rebates - "Your rebate request did not pass our audit process"

ryanm2890 30 January 24, 2013 at 03:46 AM
Hello all,

I recently received invalid notifications on 3 Symantec rebates (more should be coming) all giving the reason "Your rebate request did not pass our audit process". I'm assuming this is 1 product per year thing that McAfee does (or did?) but it says this nowhere in any of the fine print on any of these Symantec rebates. I've contacted parago about this and I waiting for a response but I thought I would start this thread cause I'm sure other people will be in this same boat. If anyone else has any experience with this "invalid reason" or is in this same boat with Symantec, post you experience.

The offers I'm officially having this problem with are:
13-43642
12-41409
13-43641

P.S. first post so go easy on me

If you don't mind sharing, how many Norton rebates did you submit in the past year and this one?

Not sure, but will have to count. It's probably about 20 on all Norton products. This one the antivirus from Frys was my first ever AV for years. All the rest that were approved were from before the January BS. I'm not that worried as I wrote Symantec all ready and mentioned how my State's AG probably wouldn't like to hear about rebate issues so soon from them after the recent lawsuit from the State of PA.

Thanks for your reply. Did you mean you wrote to Parago? They are the ones in trouble in PA.

Well wrote through Symantec fields, but sure it's Parago who will read the message. Since it's a rebate issue. Also contacted Fry's and was given an email to send my rebate info too (like many on here have also done).

I do not know if this is relevent, but bestbuy has stopped carrying Norton's. Perhaps the company is having issues, restructing or ????

I did submit the $50 ghost/bundle and $25 upgrade. Only norton items purchased in last 6 months. No audit. The rebate cards came 28 days after submission

I tried e-mailing my rebate documentation to Fry's but it bounced back as undeliverable. I guess I will have to fax it. They are not making this easy.....

Try using the fry a online help form. You'll get a case number and the list of documents you need to FAX in. I did this. Waiting for a response in a few days time.

I also tried emailing, but it bounces when attachments are present.

Anyone have problems with their Symatec rebates for items purchased from staples?

Looks like most of the problems are coming from Newegg, Frys, OD.
