Inspired by this thread and specifically this post, I did some digging to look for the 50 GB offer from Box.com for Dell advantage customers.

It turns out that the link does NOT seem to be specific to a user, so ANYONE can use it. Besides, they seem to WANT to share with your co-workers and friends. Consider yourselves my friends hug

50 GB link [box.com]

Thread FAQ
Details
50 GB of web storage
250 MB file size limit
10 GB - monthly shared bandwidth limit (calendar) [box.com]
Simple sharing and collaboration
Mobile app access

- I already signed up on the 25GB promo, can I sign up again?
For those who signed up previously with a gmail account, you can use the multiple gmail aliases trick [makeuseof.com], to sign up again for the 50 GB.

So instead of signing up for youremail@gmail.com, sign up with youremail+anystuffyouwant@gmail.com, and it should sign you up to a new account. Posters have reported this works and some use youremail+box@gmail.com for ease of remembering.

- It seems to require a phone number. Do I have to give my real phone number?
Yes, a phone number is required, and no, it does not have to be a real one.

- Can I merge multiple accounts together?
No, this is not possible. From Box.com's FAQ [box.com]:

Quote :
We currently do not provide account merge functionality, and email address cannot be associated with more than one Box account
Posters HAVE reported being able to share folders from one account to the other, though. This might run into sharing bandwidth issue, though.

Gmail trick works.

Eg: your.email@gmail.com is the same as youremail@gmail.com.

I had a regular account with them not even the 25GB one. I signed up couple about a year ago.

I just clicked on the link and then signed in to my account and it said that we have upgraded your account to 50GB under the Dell promotion.

Not sure if this will work for everyone ...good luck.

Not quite right. You have to use your.email@gmail.com for sign-on instead of yourmail@gmail.com

What I like to use (but which I'm not sure if it'll work here) is the email trick with the + sign.

So if you send an email to username+whateverjunkyouwant@gmail.com , it goes to username@gmail.com

Unfortunately, not every website accepts "+" as a valid part of an e-mail address, even though it IS in the RFC.

If you want the DropBox-esque autoupdate/upload folder just install Box Sync: https://www.box.com/services/brow...or_windows

Unfortunately, I don't think so. At least I haven't found anything like that, when I looked through google.

I am not able to find any way of doing this (Accounts tried were created yesterday), this may just be for non-promo accounts?
