Inspired by this thread and specifically this post, I did some digging to look for the 50 GB offer from Box.com for Dell advantage customers.

It turns out that the link does NOT seem to be specific to a user, so ANYONE can use it. Besides, they seem to WANT to share with your co-workers and friends. Consider yourselves my friends hug

50 GB link [box.com]

Thread FAQ
Details
50 GB of web storage
250 MB file size limit
10 GB - monthly shared bandwidth limit (calendar) [box.com]
Simple sharing and collaboration
Mobile app access

- I already signed up on the 25GB promo, can I sign up again?
For those who signed up previously with a gmail account, you can use the multiple gmail aliases trick [makeuseof.com], to sign up again for the 50 GB.

So instead of signing up for youremail@gmail.com, sign up with youremail+anystuffyouwant@gmail.com, and it should sign you up to a new account. Posters have reported this works and some use youremail+box@gmail.com for ease of remembering.

- It seems to require a phone number. Do I have to give my real phone number?
Yes, a phone number is required, and no, it does not have to be a real one.

- Can I merge multiple accounts together?
No, this is not possible. From Box.com's FAQ [box.com]:

Quote :
We currently do not provide account merge functionality, and email address cannot be associated with more than one Box account
Posters HAVE reported being able to share folders from one account to the other, though. This might run into sharing bandwidth issue, though.
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

Ladies and Gentleman who are complaining about the upload size, bandwidth limits etc, you might want to remember this is FREE and it's 50GB of cloud storage that you didn't have before.

Furthermore, you can use a program like Winrar or 7zip to manage larger file sizes.

Forget the gmail trick. You'll STILL be logging in with an email other than your own regular log-in. Do the account hop. Or, in this case, the box hop! Heres what I did.

1. I added a disposable email address to my old (25) account.
(click gear icon > account settings > then scroll down to add emails)
2. I made that NEW (disposable) email address the primary account email.
3. I deleted my original (good) email from the account.

4. I made a NEW (50) account using a 3rd email (disposable)
5. I added my original (good) email to the new account.
6. I made the original (good) email the primary.
7. I deleted the 3rd (disposable) email.

You can now log in with your original email. No having to remember +(something)@gmail.com

Edit. I revised this to show EXACTLY what I did. I didn't actually cancel my old account and make a new one as I mentioned before. I assumed that would work the same. Maybe (and perhaps probably) not.

For the above, You can still use the gmail trick to swap primary accounts, so you won't have to keep signing up for new email. Basically you need your primary email, then 2 gmail trick emails ex. Y.ouremail@gmail.com & Yo.uremail@gmail.com

Not sure how to interpret this: Why would they need to use to sync?? Confused(b) License to Box. Customer grants to Box and its contractors an irrevocable, royalty-free, worldwide license to access, use, modify, and delete any information, materials, data, files, programs, ideas and opinions provided or made available by Customer ("Customer Content") through the use of Software for the sole purpose of synchronizing the services made available through the Software with the services made available through the Website.

DEAD: "Sorry, we were unable to validate your offer. For the latest info on special deals and promotions you may qualify for, be sure to add Box on Facebook, check out The Box Blog or follow us on Twitter."

Unfortunately, I don't think so. At least I haven't found anything like that, when I looked through google.
What I did w/ my ones from yesterday is create shared folders between all the accounts. I can manually upload photos, etc. to any of the folders, each of which is linked to one of the free accounts.

*edit* and all folders are accessible via the 'main' account I setup on my galaxy s3

I had a regular account with them not even the 25GB one. I signed up couple about a year ago.

I just clicked on the link and then signed in to my account and it said that we have upgraded your account to 50GB under the Dell promotion.

Not sure if this will work for everyone ...good luck.
How did you sign into your account after clicking on the link? I didn't see any place to log in on that page; only a place to register for a new account.

what kind of docs that's so not sensitive/personal enough that I can store there? Just saying. Is this a reputable place? I only used SkyDrive, and Google drive, I don't know too much about the security risk for those two, but they are with MS and Ggle...

Box is one of the most widely used cloud storage companies by Fortune 500s. Definitely on-par or better than DropBox, SkyDrive, Google Drive, etc.

Just sign up under another e-mail address.

Not sure if the gmail trick works [makeuseof.com], but you might want to give it a shot if you have a gmail account.

Awesome...it worked...never knew about this....

I also did the 25GB one. I have a Google Apps account, so just used one of my e-mail aliases to sign up for this one. 50GB for free is fantastic, even with the 250MB file limit. I currently pay $10/month for 100GB storage on Dropbox (used to be 50GB until they doubled it last year). I'm getting close to using up my 100GB on Dropbox, so this will be a nice to supplement that for my less important files.
