Thread Details

I received an email from Einstein Bros Bagels offering the following.

$4 Off a Dozen Bucket [fbmta.com]

good through March 12, 2013

A Dozen Bucket is 12 bagels (I believe) with 2 tubs of schmear (cream cheese). The Hate to Wait bucket includes 13 of their popular bagel flavors & let's go straight to the cashier.

I don't know how much a Dozen Bucket costs, but you get $4 off with this coupon.

Bruegger's Bagels also has a similar deal for $2 Off a Big Bagel Bundle.

I'm sure it varies by market, but I get these pretty often and they go for $14 in the N. Dallas area. $4 coupon equates to a pretty slick (almost) 30% off.

Also, just to be clear, their buckets are a baker's dozen (13 total) plus 2 schmears

edit: I see that it says Baker's Dozen in the exclusions, but I have always gotten 13 bagels when buying these buckets. YMMV.

From reading the graphic, the Hate to Wait bucket comes with 13 bagels (pre-selected). The coupon is good for the Hate to Wait.

However, if you choose to get the regular Dozen Bucket (where you pick the bagels yourself)... that might only be 12. Yeh, it says excludes Bakers Dozen, so I would figure 12 unless you go with the Hate to Wait which would be 13.

'Supposibly', the phrase 'Baker's Dozen' dates back to medieval times, when a King decreed that any baker found shortchanging his customer would face the death penalty. Bakers wanted to avoid inadvertently running foul of this law. So, they started putting 13 items in an order of a Dozen. This way, even if they miscounted by one, they would still be providing a minimum of 12 items to the customer.

That's why a Baker's Dozen is 13 items.

The Dozen Bucket has 13 bagels plus 2 cream cheese, it's around $13-$14 for it. The Baker's Dozen is just the 13 bagels (no cream cheese), and I think it's like $9. They want you to get the cream cheese.

why get bagels if you're not getting cream cheese?

Anyone know if you can just show the coupon on your phone rather than print it out?
