I have had this cheap, Chinese wine set, which is a knock-off of the Metrokane Rabbit, but good quality if cared for an a non-caveman way. Eventually bought Metrokane, but this is definitely worth $20, if not more.
I'm certain the ARV's are severely inflated. Given the caliber of the cookbooks they have on discount, I find it unlikely that their patrons would pay the suggested amounts. I had an odd feeling of the old Sandra Lee food series as I surveyed the site and although the prices are low, I would be shocked if the quality of the goods received was worth the effort.
For those interested in the electronic salt/pepper mill. I have a Cuisinart product[amazon.com] that I received free in last year's SD for the gift site that is no longer in business. I forget the name but we scored big here. They are good and I use both for peppercorns. However, I have found that they grind harder substances much better (i.e. Tellicherry) whereas, the green and other peppercorns come out much slower.
I think this was either a huge price mistake and orders will be canceled (like I see with so many of these no name sites) or they had like 2 and wanted to get nearly free advertising by hitting SD with a deal.
