got an email this morning as well.. got a 64gb full of crap I don't need.. and jailbreak with evasi0n.. not in a hurry to unlock my phone.. so I'll just assume it works.. will look into it later by May when we go on our vacation.. hope everyone iPhones else's work..
I have 64GB as well, and it wasn't that bad to restore. I specifically haven't jailbroken my phone yet because I wanted to get it unlocked first.

It took a little longer than 24 hours but I got my email and verified the unlock just now. The UNLOCK SEEMS LEGIT.

For some reason my iPhone and iTunes don't play nicely with all the back up and restore requirements, I kept getting different errors. Finally the back up went trhough, but I could not update to the latest iOS version as recommended (I have 6.1 already though). Finally I attempted a restore from the back up with a T-Mobile SIM card in and this one failed too, but when the iPhone rebooted, bingo, it registered with T-Mobile and by all accounts seems fully unlocked.

This is the email I got:

Thanks to SWIFTUNLOCKS - for this free iPhone unlock []

Make sure the Iphone is updated to the current 6.1 or latest version for your model
Make sure ITUNES is updated to the 11.0.1
Make sure the phone is not jailbroken. You will have to remove the jailbreak (lower baseband). You can google/youtube how to do this.

Also try doing this process again on another computer. Also if the phone is reported STOLEN/LOST it will not work on USA GSM. It will only work overseas. The phone will not work on Sprint/Verizon/Net10/Straighttalk

Also if the phone is NOT ACTIVATED, it will not work. You will need to activate it by using an ACTIVE AT&T USA sim card

To complete the unlock, simply:
1. Make sure you have the latest version of iTunes installed. Make sure an sim card is inserted in phone.
2. Open iTunes on your MAC or PC and verify that you have Internet connectivity.
3. Connect your iPhone to iTunes by USB cable.
4. Back up your iPhone. How to back up:
5. Complete the setup assistant and restore your backup
6. After the process has finished, disconnect your iPhone, wait 10 seconds, reconnect to iTunes. It’s fully unlocked.

I don't know how to say this, I followed the instructions, I signed the petition, did the IMEI forms, verified
who I am with my facebook accounts and I got my Iphone 4 & 4S unlocked.

Currently I'm using Straight Talk Sim plans (AT&T micro sims) on the Iphones, I took out my Tmobile
microsim card off my Samsung Note 2 and inserted the micro sim card in it.

And then my brother did the configurations as posted by youtube users my Iphone 4 & 4S worked with
my Tmobile card. I didn't get (2) codes, I got (2) emails tied to my facebook account saying it was unlocked.

I can do a screenshot of the emails if you like, but it DOES work

I may now trade my iPhone 5 for another iPhone 5 with more memory

Glad to see that everyone is getting messages about the unlock, a lot of people thought it was a scam, it was not!

Followed instructions, but I have no confirmation that the device is unlocked. Is there any legitimate, free way to check besides using an active T Mobile sim?
