Thread Details

Vitamix has been selling reconditioned machines for a while, but they just made some new models available. I think these are a great deal, as they come with the standard strong Vitamix warranty, just 5 years instead of 7. If the warranty is an issue for you, you can extend the warranty to 8 years for $75, which is less than the savings. Reconditioned units are tested and repaired if necessary, and come with new containers and tampers.

The 7500 (aka Pro 300) is the new model that they released last year with the shorter/wider pitcher, longer blades, and more powerful/quieter motor. Sells for $529 new.

The 6300 (aka Pro 500) has been around a bit longer and is the same as the older machines except it has preset modes. Vitamix is selling it for $649 new, although Costco sometimes has it for $500.

If you have an old Vitamix, they'll give you $100 for it with their trade in program:

Use Code 06-008426 at the checkout page for Free Shipping ($25 off)

I would like to give you all some insight into the reconditioned units. It took less than a week to get it directly delivered from Vitamix. I used the free shipping code provided in the Wiki (06-008426) and bought the reconditioned 5200.

It arrived today and came with the taper, sealed recipe book with DVD and other information that gives you all kinds of different recipes. The blender container itself is new as well as the taper, in fact everything looks new. The only reconditioned part is the blender unit itself that houses the motor. That part looked like it was never used. The quality for a reconditioned product is superb and if anything ends up broken or defective down the line i still have a 5 yr warranty.

Overall I am really impressed with the reconditioned unit I received. I also checked the back and found it was manufactured in October 2013 (as of January 6th 2013) which is fairly recently. A family member of mine had theirs arrive today as well and told me that hers was dated December 2013 (as of January 6th 2013) so these reconditioned units are pretty new.

Dang, I just bought a refurb 5200 2 weeks ago! Do you think vitamix would let me swap it out with a 7500?
Since it's within the 30-day period, I think they would. Just give them a call to make sure.

Yeah, that is a great deal as well. I didn't include it in my original post because it's been available for a long time (and has been posted before here).

I did the reconditioned route, and I signed up for email to get a free shipping code. Warning it takes weeks to get this.

I just bought an omega juicer last week. I'd like to have both but I'll need a better deal to justify the expense at the price if these things. Have their been any deals on vitamix or blendtec like the omega juicers lately? In the neighborhood of 40 percent off or is this about as good as it gets?

The best deal you'll get on a Blendtec is if you have a Costco nearby. If you can catch a roadshow you might be able to get a Blendtec w/ Wildside Jar for $299-$329. I think it was $369 with both Four side and Wildside jar. Otherwise this is about the best you'll get, you won't see 40% off on these things often if at all.

YEs it is. THey lost a lawsuit for 24 million for stealing the jar design. Or something like that.

Type in your zip code and it should tell you which Costco's are currently selling the Blendtec. They won't know exactly when the Blendtec demonstrator will be there, but you can buy the blender w/ Wildside jar for $329 regardless of whether or not the demo guy is there. To save you a drive I'd just give that Costco a call and ask if it's in stock before going. When I was there they also had the Vitamix 5200S for $379.

This is as good as it gets for Vitamix, short of getting really lucky finding one at a garage sale sold by someone that doesn't know what it is.

Costco online has the blendtec with both the Wildside jar and the four side jar for $399. BBB has the Blendtec with just the 4 side jar for the same $399. The Jar seems to go for $99. If you just want the 4 side then the BBB with 20% off is the deal.

They've been going for even cheaper, $175. But I hear it's a hit or miss. A lot of people complain that the plastic hinges come with hairline cracks, blenders with sharpie marks on it (from Starbucks), foggy jars, etc.

We just purchased a new one of these from Costco (the 6300 model) for $499.99. Looks like it's going back for a return. Saving $120 for a refurb sounds like it's definitely worth it.

Thanks OP! Repped.
