Which are the best rice cookers in the 3 cup size? What is difference in Micom and Fuzzy logic? Which ones are made entirely in Japan?

I have 2 babies and broke our last hotpot (This is what they call it in Japan).
I went with the 3L. Did not like the price increase on 4L, plus 3L would be plenty anyway ...

Does it do anything more than heat up water?

The coupon is CASA30AFF. I prefer this coffee maker deal from the same site.

Had this coffeemaker for several years and really like it. Doesn't keep the brew as warm as a thermal carafe did but brews excellent coffee with a gold mesh filter.

Wife came up with the brilliant idea of putting the pot in an insulated lunch bag. Damn if that doesn't keep the coffee hot for hours...

I think the latest technology were IH (Inductive Heat) rice cooker.

Micom refers to micro computer, fuzzy logic is the temperature control feedback system.

Please excuse my ignorance but what is the difference between the "dispensing pot" and the "boiler/warmer" models?

If only this were combined into a Keurig machine. Makes me wonder how much power I'm wasting...

I wonder what's the power usage of on-demand hot water vs. keeping water warm throughout the day. Maybe I should look it up.

Average of the VE is 14W to 20W (depending on temperature setting) per hour. Let's say I keep it on 8 hours a day: so worst-case 20W * 8 = 160Wh.

EDIT: Someone measured their Keurig using the Kill-a-Watt meter here [amazon.com]. So assuming ~0.02kWh for each brew cycle, my family and I probably drink maybe 10 cups a day (would be less in the summer). That's 0.2kWh = 200Wh. Hmm actually comes out close then...

Bought mine (CV-DSC40 equivalent) in 2007 while living in Japan... still works perfectly 6 years later. I probably go through 5 gallons of hot water per week with it. Definitely one of the best and most indispensable items in my kitchen.
