The new MBP computers are not user upgradeable. Purchase it the way you want it because it will be cost prohibitive to upgrade it. I love Apple products, but this sucks!

this is the upgradable macbook pro. it's the retina one that you can't upgrade (which is not this one in this listing). i bought the upgradable one but after playing with the retina one and see how light it is. i kinda regret not getting the retina one. the regular is way too heavy to be lugging around so it just sit in my drawers.

Bought this last week when it came up. Arrived yesterday in the mail. Confirmed brand new with apple and full 1-year warranty.

Buy 16gb RAM from newegg for $70 and a 250gb SSD HD for around $150.

You'll have a SCREAMIN' machine that will last you a long, long time....

I've had problems buying compatible memory. Try Other World Computing for memory

Not familiar with this model, MD101LZ/A. On the other hand, MD101LL/A can be found all over.

Warranty was okay even though this is a unit for South America? LZ vs LL?

Its only upgradeable to 8gb right? Will 16 help or do anything different? Best way to clone this hard drive to last nights 500gb SSD?

Apple specs say that its upgradabe to 8gb but you can max it out at 16gb. Use Carbon Copy Cloner. Just google it.
