Just did my own chat on the Ink recycling before the 3/15 Program change. Up til the 14th we are still under the old Program; get those inkls in before the 14th to get rewards without buying $30 worth of ink

Quote from chat:
Initial Question/Comment: Hello, I am trying to figure out this new recycling program. I just recycled my inks for this month and need to know if I am under the old program or do the rules of the new program (3/15/13 )already apply & I now have to buy $30 in ink before this latest reward is posted to my Premiere rewards account
12:19:37 PM : Rachel: Hi Premiere Customer. As the new program does not go into effect until March 15, anything done prior to that date will remain under the current program.

If the double/double deal is true, and you can indeed recycle up to 10 (or 20 for premier) cartridges, for those buying HP Ink, there is a $15 shell gift card if you buy $99 in ink:

http://www.iteminfo.com/ItemInfoF...-99buy.pdf

Just did a chat and got this from the rep,
Quote :
• $30 ink recycling minimum spend. Customers qualify for ink and toner recycling Rewards when they spend $30 or more on ink or toner within 180 days of recycling their cartridges. Once the minimum spend is met, which can be done over multiple purchases, they will be eligible to receive $2 back up to their monthly limit.
I'm attaching a scan of something that printed out with my ink recycling receipt this morning, spelling out the changes to the program. In a nutshell, it involves buying $30 in ink or toner every 180 days. Can still recycle 10 carts per month for a base or plus customer or 20 for a premier customer. Also posted this in post #430, in case it disappears from the wiki.

Another interesting note: Seems like you have to be a plus or premier member to be able to recycle ink! "up to 10 per calendar month per Plus customer or up to 20 per calendar month per Premier customer" - Incorrect. Both Base and Plus customers can recycle 10/month. See my entry above this and the 2nd attachment on this wiki (or post 430).

I think the real question is "whether or not the ink recycle from 03/01-03/14 required $30 toner/ink purchase in order to get the reward on April?"
Can anyone confirm with Staples Rewards CSR? and update the wiki?

does staples take back ink without a receipt? Meaning, i could buy $30 in ink with my rewards account, then return the ink without a receipt for store credit?

Returns without a receiptIf you don't have your receipt, your return is eligible only for an in – store credit for the lowest selling price within the previous 30 days in our U.S. stores. Valid government identification is required for all non – receipted returns. We carefully monitor returns and in some cases returns made or without a receipt may be refused. Staples reserves the right to deny any return.
Ink and Toner Cartridges
Unopened and unexpired ink or toner cartridges, currently carried in our U.S. Stores, may be returned at any time for a full refund.

stamp pad ink doesn't count, confirmed by staples. I need a $6-7 filler item to get over $30, my 2 pgi-220 are $24.29

Also see an hp twinpack i could flip for a small loss, might be smarted, and earn a free ebay feedback. if tax puts you over $30 does that work ?

Has anyone tested recycling the month their 180 days is up prior to the date of expiration? What I mean is my ink purchase was made on 12/15/12 and I plan to recycle in June prior to the 12th. Will I still get my credit for June since I purchased ink within the prior 180 days?

I'd like to not buy ink until the end of July (unless a great deal comes up) and recycle for July at the same time.

Use the calculator found here: http://www.calendar-12.com/date_add_days and add 179 to your purchase date to be safe. It is recycle within 180 days of purchase. If you fall outside those 180 days you will get squat AFAIK. As indicated by the posts where people did not have ink purchases within the previous 180 days of recycling. Don't see why having bought ink outside the 180 period would be any different.

I see you have already done the date calculation. June 12, 2013 is your last day to recycle for the credit w/o buying ink.

found 2 hp inks for $32 that i should be able to get $25 back out of minus ebay/paypal fee's. Probably smartest move. paying $36 for 3 pgi 220's would be retarded when i can buy them for a buck a piece on amazon.

thanks, just wanted to make sure it worked in reality as in theory. For some reason, I was worried that since month end when the rewards are calculated are after the 12th, it wouldn't count. But now that I think about it, didn't the early March recyclers get their rewards at the end of the month, even though the program changed mid month?

Yes, they did but they were under the old program so they did not have to buy ink. It does not matter what day of the month you recycle as long as your recycle date is within 180 days of ink purchase. You must recycle in that month to get credit for that month.

FYI-Effective June 9, 2013 – MaxPerks Rewards Members who recycle ink or toner cartridges at an OfficeMax retail store location in the state of California and select stores in Denver and Kansas City, will receive $1 off instantly on your same-day, in-store transaction for each qualifying cartridge recycled, up to 20 recycled cartridges and $20 in savings per member, per calendar month. In-store purchase must be of equal or greater value than the total value of ink/toner cartridges recycled before coupons and taxes. per FW

I used a staples CASH CARD (not gift card) to purchase over $30 hp ink last month and recycled 20 ink (im a plus member). But I havent received any staples reward as of today. I am already hearing other member getting the ink reward for month of May.

Does Staple CASH CARD not count as Cash? If I went ahead and purchase another $30 of ink at staples today will I get the ink reward for last month?
Or did Staples banned my account for using too much coupon, so I wont get any staples ink reward?

Thanks!

Did you get the Cash Card from returning something that you used rewards to pay with? Contact the Rewards people to see what's up. You have a couple of potential pitfalls. 1. You recycled carts before you bought the ink?(different days) 2. You used coupons on the ink and did not really spend > $30 out-of-pocket? If neither of those applies then contact the Rewards people and see what's up.

I am now a plus member, but the staples reward link shows only 10 ink can be recycled. Is it safe to recycle 20 carts?

Yes I did use a Cash card from returning something from a previous purchase. (not from a reward purchase)
I make the ink purchase and did the ink recycle the same transaction?

If i go and make another $30 of ink purchase now with CASH$$$. Will i still get the $40 reward from last month or will it only count starting this month recycling?
