I just saw on Southwest Airline's site that the 50K Chase Premier credit card offer is back. There is a $99 annual fee that is not waived, but the 50K points are worth about $833 and they're good towards the very valuable companion pass (110K points needed in a year).

You should be able to get this card if you had the Plus card ($69 annual fee) before as they're considered different products.

You will have to charge 2K on each in the first 3 months.

Applied for both Personal Premiere and Personal Plus. Got both. Wanting to use miles for a trip in July, but I want to book it pretty quickly. Hopefully that won't be a problem.

Makes it a little harder with having to spend 6k in 3 months, but not impossible. OMG

ok...well I would suggest the prepaid card method. Little bit of a hassle, but will get you there quicker.
I would just use Costco if you have membership. You buy something online a Ring or Camera that's over $2,000. Once you get it return to a B&M location. They will either refund you in cash or a check. Pay off CC and you good to go. The reason they do this is due to them not taking Visa or Master card.

Does it really work? Can I use Costco Membership under my mom name and pay with my own credit card online?

or you can goto any store you shop at, buy something that's >$2k and return using the gift receipt.

Agreed. That's a really sleazy idea. There are MANY other ways to meet minimum spend than doing this.

Interesting...

Just tried to order a WF prepaid with my fancy new card and was asked to use a different payment method. WF claims that you can still use cc to buy/reload until May 1, so I suspect the stoppage came from Chase's side...

Funny thing is, I'm not even trying to manufacture - I just want to be able to pay my existing WF account with a non-WF card. Boo.
