I just saw on Southwest Airline's site that the 50K Chase Premier credit card offer is back. There is a $99 annual fee that is not waived, but the 50K points are worth about $833 and they're good towards the very valuable companion pass (110K points needed in a year).

You should be able to get this card if you had the Plus card ($69 annual fee) before as they're considered different products.

Do you have to apply for the Plus card first then the premier or does it not matter?

So I'm a bit confused. I got approved, called, got the card expedited, started spending right away. Broke the $2000 mark before the end of the first statement. The first statement closed, and i had a balance of 2100.xx. It only awarded me 2300 points. Also I did not see the annual fee tacked on anywhere yet?

Is this a timing issue that I have to wait until the next statement? I hate to wait a whole additional month when i met the criteria during the first month...

Either way is fine. It won't necessarily matter, but I signed up for an RR account first.
How long after you apply will you have the RR information?

On the landing page it should mention the 50,000 points. Once you start the application process I think the wording changes to 2 roundtrip flights, but in the fine print it says that this is just based on 25k points per flight estimates.
THank you. I still don't see it Embarrassment but that makes sense.

If you apply for both the business and the personal card, do you send one application through and then click on a link for the other card? Or do you open two tabs and send them through one right after the other?

Remember reading on the million miles site that they suggest submitting the apps as close together as possible simply in order to result in 1 pull on your credit check instead of 2. As long as its within a few hours (or maybe even the same day??) I'd imagine your chances being pretty good for this to be the case. IIRC each pull only costs your credit score a few points, so it's hard to imagine this being a huge concern regardless.

Yeah, the points will be there on the second cycle if the spending was too close to the first billing cycle. That happened to me on my second card.

Please ignore the answer given to you by AcaFeLLa. The correct answer is that it doesn't make a difference. Though, in order to avoid any problems that may arise from cookies, app timing out etc, I'd do them one at a time or if you want to do them together, use different browsers. I generally click on one, submit it and then click on the list. The information supplied by AcaFeLLa is rubbish, unfortunately.

If you haven't applied for a lot of other cards recently (i.e have few recent inquiries on your credit report), it shouldn't be hard to get the cards.

Unfortunately, this is wrong information.
What MMS was referring to was the 2-Browser trick (now dead) and it ONLY worked for CITI.
The reason why it worked was because
A. Citi would let you apply for 2 SAME CARDS simultaneously and approve both.
B. The credit agency (Experian etc), would see 2 pulls for the same cards, think that it's a duplicate pull and it would merge them. This had nothing to do with CITI...It's just the way credit agencies work.

This would/will NOT work with Chase.

The part you did get right is that it's just a few points lost for each pull, and the effect of which would drop off after a few months. So there's that.

Cheers. Smilie
