They also have the 810 which is a new release as well. It's $499.99 - so 15% off would be $424.99. Hopefully in a few months, these things will come down in price. I'm still holding onto a Garmin 305 that I got on a slickdeal 2 years ago for $99. It works well, but at the right price, I'd upgrade.

I'm also still using my 305. It's amazingly capable for the price and I haven't found any compelling reason to upgrade yet. For some reason the missing feature I complain about the most is temperature. Although it would be really nice to have a unit that displayed full road maps.

If Slickdeals could get me an amazing deal on the 810 I would upgrade.

Good price, I don't if it's worth it to upgrade from a 500.

Agreed. Temp and road maps would be nice. Maybe toss in power tap meter to go with it. ha ha

made the leap from an Edge 305 to the 510. For the additional features it was worth it. My reasons for upgrading.

The 510 supports up to 10 bikes where the 305 only supports 3. I own 5.
The 510 supports ANT+ so I can use once I eventually purchase Powertap. 305 does not.
The 510 now features real time online tracking of my location, great for wife and friends to follow. The 305 has no similar feature.
The 510 will alert temperature and possible impending bad weather conditions.

My Edge 305 is 4 years old and for the $339 I paid for the bundle after discounts that's a good deal. Also, shipping was free for my order. A garmin promotion I guess. So basically it turned out close to a 20% off if you count the savings on the shipping too. That's about a good a deal as you'll find right now considering this GPS has been out what 2 weeks and it's the beginning of cycling season for some? It won't get too much cheaper than this all year and if it does it won't be much cheaper. Better to buy from PerformanceBike than fleabay.

Is the 810 the lowest model to get turn by turn? I'm kind of retarded when I'm riding and get lost, the only reason for me is to get turn by turn since I already have a 910xt.

You can get turn by turn if you can find a 605 or 705 used.

I think 510 offers turn by turn if you connect it to your phone. By the way, I have Garmin Edge 800 and its turn by turn is very bad in terms of course plotting (makes you bike on highways) and if you manually plot the course on your PC, transferring it to your device is very problematic as well (courses get lost or parts of them missing). That's I am getting rid of 800 and getting 510. I'd rather rely on my phone for navigation.
