I know that Sam's Club has run this promotion before but that was only for 1 or 2 locations. This appears to be nationwide this time ends on March 4th. Look under the Nationwide tab at the top right hand side.

Buy a membership at Sam's Club through Living Social and receive a $20.00 giftcard plus a free pizza, rotisserie chicken and 2 boxes of cookies.

Does anyone know how to use the food-service vouchers. Do I take the food and hand the vouchers to cashier when checking out?
I'm sure it would either be that or you'd redeem them at the cafe.

Does anyone know if Sams does the same thing as Costco with the GCs? I love Costco and shop there weekly so don't really need a Sams membership, but I do like to pop in there sometimes as they have different items. I don't mind paying the surcharge but it's a pain to go to the desk and get a temp membership for the day. If I could void that with GCs, I'd be thrilled.

Thank you for this deal. No Costco around here, so I enjoy my Sam's club. And being able to use their gas station with this membership will save me lots on my commute, so thank you.

I do prefer a number of things at Costco, but their prices are 10-20% higher in my area than at Sams for the same things. Costco has a lot bigger selection and better meats, but they are more expensive. I only get a Sams membership when there is a promo like this going on, last year they did a $20 gift card, a cheesecake, and a chicken so the membership was much less expensive than Costcos membership. I would never outright pay $40 for a Sams membership that did not include a bunch of freebies.

I had a Sam's membership for 15 years and for 5 years I had both Sam's and Costco.
I ditched Sam's last year for the following reasons:
Customer service has deteriorated so much - Sam's staff don't give a ****
Conversely, the Costco staff actually care !
Costco quality is better; I frequently found moldy fruit at Sam's, also out of date items.
You couldn't pay me to go back to Sam's

Do they ever have any good online offers at Sam's Club?

You are over-thinking this. What happens is you need to go to customer service so you can get in the club to shop. They won't activate your membership prior to shopping. Once you complete your shopping, you head to the checkout and use vouchers. They will then send you back over to customer service where they will issue a membership card....which will be valid for one year.

I have seen other deals where they make you shop before they give you a membership card. It is only a PIA on the first visit.

This deal is tempting. I am having problems finding out the experation date on my BJ's membership. Their automated system is cutting me off. If it expires in the next 6 months, I'm in.
Maybe we are talking about different things then. I'm referring to shopping without ever getting a membership card. Are you saying you've actually had them give you a membership card without paying the membership fee?

I thought you could fill gas at Sams club without membership? Atleast it works here in NJ.

Not here in KY, you have to swipe your membership card at the pump before your payment card or it will not let you pump.

Congratulations. My nearest Costco is 90 miles away. And my Sams seems better than what you describe.

No..for this deal you will get a membership card. I wouldn't shop at Sams without one.
